Grotto Bay Beach Resort

Great all inclusive. So easy and quick from airport. Good food and beach and pool.

3/5 – Great water sports, but not a 4-star resort We just returned from a stay at this resort and overall, it was average at best. The property and rooms are below the standard of a 4-star in need of general upkeep and updates. The main check-in lobby is modern and clean, which gives a great first impression, but unfortunately, that doesn’t extend to the rest of the resort. Service was consistently slow throughout our stay. On arrival, we were given the wrong room type. To their credit, the staff fixed the issue and gave us a partial refund, but they kept saying the new room was a “downgrade” without ever explaining how which left us confused. The room itself felt very tired and didn’t live up to the bright, polished photos online. That said, there are a couple of highlights. The on-site cave is unique and worth a quick visit, and our favorite part of the stay by far was the water sports experience. The on-property vendor was fantastic friendly, professional, and made the trip memorable. If you're visiting primarily for the water activities and not staying on the resort much, it might still be worth considering, but go in with realistic expectations about the rooms and service.

We had a lot of issues with housekeeping and only had our beds made twice.

Rooms need to be updated and cleaned better. We had a hold in our bathtub and blood on our sheets. Walls are incredibly thin so you can hear everything from your neighbors. We left early and the hotel did refund us our remaining nights which was greatly appreciated.

This was our 2nd stay, nice to see all the work they have done. We only ate breakfast at Grotto Bay, which was really good. The beach at Grotto bay is phenomonal, staff very nice! Grounds really well kept. Rooms are very clean but alittle dated. Overral really enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful property and food was very good. Lots of walking hills and steps to get to main restaurants can be tiring if you are not a young person. We found the most pleasant people were the waiters and housekeeping. Bartenders (especially at the pool) were grumpy until you gave them a substantial extra tip and then they were your best friend and would smile and talk to you. Not a place to go if you want quiet and relaxing as a lot of kids running around which I knew. Not a deal breaker, but this resort definitely caters to families with kids. Drinks were just ok. Food was good quality. Some dishes much better than others. I found it is a pretty good deal for the all inclusive package and you can't beat the quick air travel from Boston and the beauty of the island.

Overall we had a very good stay. Mostly positives. A quick list of major catagories on a scale of 1-10. Food and food serIce- 9. Pool and beach areas -8. Lobby and check in - 9. Rooms - 7. A bit worn. Lastly drinks and drinks services- 3 ! Terrible bartenders and drinks. Slow, ornery , and at times mean. So bad, even though the overall score would be about 8 I doubt I would return. Real shame.
