Grand Hotel Tremezzo

I stayed with my husband while on tour a few years ago. The Insight Tour this was our last stop 3-4-days we were guests at this beautiful stunning hotel before a short one-day trip to Switzerland. I see from other current photos it is still as stunning and a perfect place to choose on your own or be part of a tour choice of hotel. We had a front view balcony room in the far-right corner facing out the hotel. The room was very spacious, comfortable and waking up and opening the large window view every morning to a lovely morning fall mist and a fisherman in a small boat was like out of a Lake Como picture book. I had to practically pinch myself this was real. Also, a very short walkable distance to the left and we were able to take a quick scenic ferry ride over to Bellagio, there aren't words how beautiful and special the sites and scenery can be. The hotel ambience is magical and whether walking the grounds or to the rooftop pool, to having a nice place to sit downstairs with plenty of comfort rooms to explore, to walking the stairs and garden grounds, or weather permitting the relaxing rooftop swimming pool to sit, swim or just have an afternoon cocktail before dinner is heavenly. It is a wonderful spot of Lake Como, stunning views, well-kept, clean and first-class style in every way. From the hotel, staff and community area, I highly recommend anyone visiting this Lake Como area to consider staying at this posh elegant first-class style resort. If we were to visit again, I would not stay any other place and give this 10-stars out of 5.

There was not one thing we could fault!

I honestly thought that being the beginning of the season the experience would have been different then sunmer period. But we have been lucky with the weather and everything at the property was perfect since the arrival. T Bar has been an amazing experience, food and service have been great! This is our third stay at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, first time in April. As always we had a fabulous stay! Special mention for the service we received at l'Escale Trattoria and the Terrazza Bar (Roberto and Vincezo, thank you!) We really hope to return in the fall or next year.

Great team and attention to detail.

We've had the good fortune of staying at the GHT multiple times over the past 25 years. Our recent visit was in celebration of 25 years of marriage, and the GHT was one of our honeymoon spots in 2000. We've been returning ever since. Much has been written about the lovely decor, view, etc. - and that is certainly all more than true. But what makes the GHT so special to us is the staff. I want to particularly mention Marcella - who keeps a smile on her face and exudes warmth, kindness, and professionalism, even though they keep her super busy! We never fail to feel completely welcomed by her and very much at home. She is a superstar at her job and a dear person to us. I wish I could list ALL of the many other staff who go out of their way for guests, but here are just a few : Anna, Alex, Marco, Federico, Manual, and Head Pastry Chef Adriano. And a shout out to Silvio for his always enthusiastic greeting and send-off when we arrive and depart. We had some unfortunate news from home during our trip, and Marcella and team showed such care upon learning of this and definitely helped us to smile through our upset. In summary, we always feel special as guests at the GHT, but our anniversary trip was truly made particularly special in so many ways. We can't wait to return.

The hotel is a beautiful property but certainly it’s showing its age as even the room key is truly a room key and not a key card. I guess it’s just the nostalgia of an older hotel. There is also very limited dining in surrounding area but the restaurant in the hotel is great. Due its location, there is little to sometimes no uber or taxi available hence it can be pricey getting a car via the concierge. From the moment you arrive, the porter and the bell men are very friendly. As you accent the elevator to the second story, you are greeted with a grand staircase and the front desk are to the left hand side who are also very friendly. It’s certainly has the feel of the RITZ Paris without the multi-million dollar makeover. The overall experience was wonderful and the rooms are well appointed with all the expected amenities which one comes to expect from a true 5 star hotel. I think one thing is missing is maybe a hotel car which would allow guests to get to surrounding restaurants (within a 5 miles radius) or the boat terminal which is only a 15 min walk, but it would certainly make the lives of their patrons a lot easier.
