"Great location. Wonderful views, but Read reviews."

7.0

The entrance to the hotel was stunning. The staff all friendly and helpful. Downstairs was lovely and the gardens were gorgeous. Great parking too.

Rooms need TLC. Bed was uncomfortable, room Floor squeaky. Would have been nice to be informed they had a function on at the same time as our reservation. Check in advance because it was very noisy until 3am with people coming and going, slamming their room doors, and talking. I understand this isn’t the hotel’s responsibility.

"Nice hotel but ...."

7.0

Great location and an excellent breakfast buffet that exceeded expectations. The public areas are very nice, and there is a lovely garden area with plenty of outdoor seating

The rooms felt a bit dated, and the lack of air conditioning made them uncomfortably hot. To make matters worse, our window wouldn't stay open to let in a breeze. The floorboards were incredibly squeaky, so noisy that we could clearly hear the guests next door walking around. Overall, it was not an environment conducive to a good night's sleep.

"Fabulous hotel"

10.0

The whole experience was first class. As I am a single traveler rooms are often very small. The single room at The Old Swan was very spacious. A full size bathroom, a large single bed and there was iron, ironing board, fan and everything you could possibly want.

Very little. The only small problem was only one lift and on checkout day I couldn't access it very easily as it kept arriving full. However as I was on the first floor I was able to use the stairs with the help of two lady guests who carried my luggage.

"Really enjoyed my stay especially because of location, parking and style of hotel."

9.0

Fantastic location for Harrogate. Very close to centre but in a quiet position. Enjoyed the history and the communal lounges/bar.

Doors closed loudly and some guests on Saturday night made lots of noise outside the rooms but this wasn’t the hotels fault.

"We liked the location and history of the hotel. Room was very tired and dark"

7.0

The location was good. Staff nice.

Very disappointed with the room. Dark and tired. The worse bathroom we’ve ever seen. Very difficult to explain but very narrow to get to the toilet which was behind a bizarre wall within the bathroom. If you were a larger person you would struggle getting past the bath to reach the toilet behind half a wall. Very strange and not nice experience, so disappointing.
