Parkhotel Mannheim

The hotel was centrally located and conveniently close to the railway station. The hotel looks grand from the outside but could do with some refurbishment internally. The staff were friendly and helpful overall. Food and drink were okay but not great although breakfast was excellent. I would come back because of the location.

Great central location. Convenient to the Christmas Markets. Be sure to visit the one at Paraden Platz and near the Englehorn Department store on N1 street. Both are better than the one across from the hotel at the Water Tower (Wasserturm). Be aware there is construction next door. They are building a new museum building. I didn't hear any noise within the hotel, but my room was on the opposite end. Location is convenient to the Mannheim gay bars and cafes - if that is your thing. And there is a Starbucks just across the street and several German bakeries in short walking distance. Main Train station is also within easy walking distance

Breakfast is great. Room was a bit small and outdated but clean. TV is a small CRT!!! Channel selection is bad (only one channel BBC is english).

Good Location, facility dated, downstairs bar area very smokey in the evenings!!

Booked through hotels.com and got a room which was closer to prison than to hotel room. Very small, not enough room to hang my shirts or leave my things.The view was really perfect, but no use of it when you use the hotel room for sleeping only. Hotel is well positioned, but outdated. Reception desk takes ages to process customers, and if there are more than 2 people, you can count on 10 minutes waiting. The room key and keychain are huge, so it is very unpractical to carry arround.

Hotel is conveniently located in old building not far from main train station. Room was pretty spacious and comfortable. From other hand there are visible signs that hotel requires some renovation, i.e. furniture is worned out, air conditioning is 30 y.o. design and pretty noisy, old style small tv set, wired internet and no free wifi. The good stuff is that breakfast was really nice, however price for breakfast is little bit too much. Overall my stay was not bad, however I would expect more quality for price I paid and next time will search another better equipped hotel.

The front desk was not very helpful and did not speak English well.

Expected more based on the photos and price. It was fine, but nothing more.

Wonderful building and park, very close to centre. Nice bar with live music, wide selection of liquor and cocktails, but poor cigar selection and humidor. Rooms clean and with enough light, but no wlan.
