Cabinas Hukats Secret Jungle

I was impressed with the spotless absolutely clean room. Immaculate! I enjoyed a comfortable sleep and was treated so kindly by the owners, that I will not forget them. I definitely recommend Cabinas Hukats Secret Jungle. What a local gem!!!

Son cabinas sumamente limpias, la atención fue muy cálida por parte de los administradores. Tiene una cocina súper equipada. En general las súper recomiendo.

It was in a private area away from all the noise. The room and bathroom were super cozy.

The hostel is located in a dead end street in the outskirts of Puerto Viejo. First night, we were awaken by loud bangs we couldn’t identify. Second evening, around 20:00, people outside the hostel started to throw fist-size stones against the property for 1 hour when there were none of the staff in. After that, around midnight, we were again waken up by bangs which were now clear gun shots fired in the street of the hostel. The shooting lasted for more than 1 hour. We complained to the hostel staff but they mentioned this was ‘normal’, and refuse to refund the remaining nights we booked because the gun shots ‘did not take place inside the hostel premises’ I must say in 3 weeks in Costa Rica this was the only bad experience I had. The cabins are decent for the value but not worth the risk, there are safe places for similar cost in cahuita area.

The owners were very nice and helpful. There is an on site taxi service, bicycle rental, and laundry facility. There is a full service outdoor kitchen for guest use. It was a basic but very nice accommodation. I had a nice stay.

Très bon accueil ! Le séjour c’est très bien passé, la chambre et la salle de bain étaient très propres. Petit plus : la douche ou l’on peut régler l’eau chaude. Je recommande vivement

Die Unterkunft war sehr schön und vor allem sauber. Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett und immer hilfsbereit. In der Außenküche konnte man sehr gut kochen und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Tout était très bien. Si vous louez des vélos je vous recommande de faire gonfler les pneus avant.
