Blu Monkey Boutique Phuket Town

The bed was so comfy, the best bed I’ve slept in while travelling south east Asia. Room was very clean with a large smart tv for Netflix and other apps. Communal area on each floor had sofas,tea, coffee, water and a large fridge. The attached restaurant/cafe on the ground floor was really good, served great food and drinks

Shower water was 1 temperature and not warm regardless of what setting you had it on.

Water pressure was rubbish and the water never got hot

Location!! Close to the old town, next to bus terminal 1, but just away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Comfy bed, very nice breakfast options in the cafe on the ground floor. You should try their Dirty Latte!

We had a bit of noise (footsteps, furniture being moved around) from the guests on the top floor. It might be bothersome for some people.

Great room, lots of character. Big, clean and comfortable. Claw bath was nice. Good location, quiet. Staff were great. Breakfast was excellent.

Walking up 4 levels of stairs might be a challenge for some.

Very calm and clean, also really pretty room. The coffee downstairs was also really pretty.

No elevator, but it’s okay, we only had to carry the luggage twice. Also they forgot to send me the codes for my late check in.

I had 2 different rooms along my stay and I really loved the one with a tub. Spacious and comfy. was ok. Lovely communal spaces and nice cafe at first floor.

The second one with not tub have very hard mattress ( they change it ) and poor luminosity . However was ok. Water pressure is unstable and very annoying ( it seems that it’s always been complained but never fixed ). The fact that in case of problems you have to deal with cafe staff or housekeeper with zero English is also an issue .. However I got the WhatsApp of the responsible and I was able to get things done. Location is ok but the road is a terminal of buses and not very attractive . Also the walk to old city has no walking path so bit dangerous and unpleasant

We only stayed 3 nights, but could have stayed much longer. Located on a very quiet street, but only a few minute walk from the central tourist area. The entrance is through a lovely bakery on the first floor, which has comfortable seating spaces on the first and second floor. There is a door code used to access the hotel after the bakery closes (5pm or 6pm?). The staff were friendly and spoke English well enough. The bakery was one of the highlights of our stay, with an excellent selection of typical and creative desserts (various cheesecakes, cakes, croissants, donuts, etc.), fresh made coffees and teas, "all day breakfast", and lunch meals. It was comforting to see local young business people stopping in to order coffee/tea, baked goods, and meals on their to work. Everything we ordered was delicious and presented well. The furniture is beautiful and there is a nice mix of local art and historical images. The second, third, and fourth floor have guest rooms. We stayed on the third floor. The 3rd and 4th floors' common area each have a comfortably furnished seating area, refrigerator, water, coffee, water kettle, toaster, cups, cutlery, iron, and ironing board. The bakery and hotel were very clean and well maintained. Our room was very clean and looked better than the pictures online. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioner worked well. The room was quiet. Boutique is an appropriate description. BTW, there is another hotel nearby name the Blu Monkey, which seems to be a regular hotel. Additionally, there are banks, cash machines (ATMs), massage parlors, and restaurants in the neighborhood.

Only minor issues for us. (1) No elevator means you have to carry your luggage up stairs. If your large baggage is too heavy, I recommend carrying up your smaller baggage first so you can empty it out. Then you can put items from your heavy baggage into it, which would make carrying your larger baggage easier! You will have to make a few trips up to your room. If you cannot handle that, then maybe you need a hotel with an elevator. IMO, travelers should be prepared to deal with that issue on trips. (2) The bathroom sink did not have much space to place toiletries, so I moved a chair and small table from the bedroom into the bathroom for that purpose. (3) The water pressure in the shower varied from high to low (I had read other comments about that). We got used to it quickly. The water temperature was fine. It was not a big issue for my wife and me. With all the other great things about the hotel and bakery, we felt these issues did not matter much.
