The property was lovely it was clean and neat, the rooms was nice to with the bed being comfy.

The fact that there’s no proper signage outside the hotel stating that the parking in front of it is for drop off only and that you must carry on driving round the building to find the hotel parking because of this I parked outside the hotel thinking it was okay (because there was no proper signs saying this was drop off only) I ended up getting a £25 parking ticket which to be honest use should’ve paid but I made no fuss an went on about my day. Use should think about putting signs up for you hotel parking so people don’t get rinsed out of there hard earned money.

Very disappointing stay – definitely not worth the price Unfortunately, our stay was far below expectations and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chester. The location is convenient as it’s close to the train station, but that came with a downside — there’s a pub on the corner and, due to the single-glazed windows, noise travelled straight into the room. It made it difficult to relax and get a good night’s sleep. What made the experience even more disappointing is that this was supposedly the best and most expensive room available at the hotel. Based on the condition and overall experience, that was genuinely surprising. The room itself felt poorly maintained. The shower head was cracked, causing inconsistent water pressure, and there were visible signs of mould around the shower area and plug. The room door also had a noticeable gap at the bottom, meaning light from the hallway came through at night, which again affected sleep quality. On top of that, there were random stains on the carpet which made the room feel unclean and neglected. The WiFi was poor throughout the entire stay and unreliable whenever we tried to use it. Cleanliness and housekeeping seemed to be lacking generally — rubbish and empty bottles were left in the stairwell for the entire weekend despite staff regularly walking past, which didn’t leave a great impression and made us question the overall standards of upkeep. To top it off, parking cost £30 for two nights, which felt excessive considering the standard of the hotel and the experience we had. Overall, this stay was extremely disappointing, especially given we paid for what was meant to be the hotel’s highest-standard room. For the price charged, the condition, cleanliness, maintenance, and noise levels were unacceptable. If you’re planning a trip to Chester, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Retained its Victorian vibe but up to date facilities.

The helpfulness of the staff. The size of the room and the comfy bed.

The price of the room for me it wasn't valve for money. As the room i stayed needed decorating (especially the coving and skirting boards) It wasn't the same standards as other best westerns I have stayed in and was more expensive than the ones with a Spa.
