Sunset Condominiums

So beautiful, so many beautiful birds and decoration. Literally couldn’t have been better, the condo was so cozy we loved every second of it

This was my first time staying at Sunset Condominiums and I will list the pros and cons: PROS: They're located on Stonecliffe's property, so you get to utilize the grounds. Beautiful hammocks, comfy chairs around firepits (that weren't lit for some reason), and AMAZING restaurants and food. Beautiful views from the patios, and it's so far removed from downtown it's very quiet. Shuttle upon arrival and departure was prompt and professional - a definite plus. CONS: The condos are very outdated and could use MAJOR refurbishing. I slept on the sofa bed and the mattress is VERY old and uncomfortable. The property is VERY far from downtown, and the taxi service is sketchy at best. On a quiet Saturday night, I waited almost 90 minutes for a cab to bring me back to the condo, so I didn't have to walk in the dark by myself. I would recommend Sunset Condos and/or Stonecliffe open a bike rental business on the property, so guests have the option to rent a bike during their stay. The property would be beautiful to explore via bicycle, guests can ride into town if they want, and it would be a great amenity to offer resort guests. (Renting bikes downtown for overnight rental can get VERY expensive, and the property is too far from downtown to bring your own bike.) Overall, although it wasn't unpleasant, I probably wouldn't stay here again given the location. But for people who want the feel of the island without the fanfare, Sunset Condos are for you.

The commute takes some navigating

The floor was dirty around the tub and the water leaked. We didn't shower while we were there. It is listed as a condo and not a hotel, so it was understandable that other people live there, but we woke to a family arguing on the other side of a very thin wall, and the yard around the building was strewn with broken bike trailers, grills, tools, and was just generally unkempt. The bed was comfortable, and it was otherwise clean. The "view" of Lake Michigan we were promised in the add for this apartment was glimpses through overgrown trees. That said, we were a 1-minute walk from much nicer areas and the views we didn't actually get from our place. This might have been a $50 hotel room anywhere else, but $200 here was at least better than $500 at Stonecliff a stone's throw away.

Wonderful stay

First night people next door were noisy till 11:00. Was quiet Second night. Floors not clean, found pretzels on floor and when spilled water wiped it up, floor was very dirty.

The unit pictured was the unit I got, which was beautiful. The condo looked, felt and smelled very clean, including the carpeting. Definitely a home away from home! Bed was big and comfy, and en suite laundry was so nice for our messy island adventures. We will be returning for sure! Thank you Sunset staff, for another wonderful end-of-season stay!!

Property was great. A sewer smell in the room and right outside the door....Dog hairs imbedded on the bottom sheet

Room was cozy and clean. Nicer than expected. Nice balcony with a beautiful view. Loved how quiet that side of the island is.

We did not like the property. It was not the one shown in the booking pictures....no kitchen, no breakfast bar, no chairs inside only 2 metal ones on the balcony....when I called in to the Sunset rep. All I got was thry could not do anything, everything was booked....but what I booked we did not get. Checked out on the seco d day of the original 4 days, and was forced to make another reservation else where for the last to days....suffered the inconvenience of false advertising to perpetuate me to book....and did not get what I booked....very unhappy
