The Stratton House Hotel

Bed was comfy. Despite being on a busy road, it was very quiet. Staff were polite. Very conveniently placed for access to town and travel.

Shower didn't have very good pressure but sufficient to get clean. Bathroom floor was a bit smeared in the corners, difficult to get to with a mop. Booking. com says breakfast available for extra charge but when we asked when we booked in, we were told breakfast is only available at weekends, however when we were leaving the hotel there were people in the restaurant eating breakfast, as we had not eaten very well the night before, due to being at a funeral all day, a decent breakfast would have been much appreciated.

The restaurant was really nice & staff attentive although a bit slow to serve drinks. The room could do with a spruce up, there were water stains on the ceiling and cobwebs in the corners. No hairdryer & tiny TV. Bathroom clean & tidy. Was way too hot & needed to leave window open all night. Price wasnt bad & would probably stay again if in the area

Comfortable room and bed with good breakfast good location for town

Warm and dry.

1980’s plumbing, setting the shower was a right fiddle. Bed wasn’t the most comfortable and room was pretty noisy until past midnight. Needs some updating and the carpets cleaning - failed the black light test.

Location and parking

Not enough staff, noisey, shower cold and no pressure. No cooking on Sunday after 4pm. No breakfast available on Monday.

Staff were friendly

Everything else, bed was very uncomfortable. Noise from room above. Very tired and in desperate need of an update.

Leaving

Noise all night , right on main street ,could hear floors creaking all night from people walking up and down doors opening and it was very Noise inside, I think it was built by someone that didn't finish it. There was what sounded like gruffalo snoreing in the next room ( horrific noise ) I'm mentally scared 😱 heating was on full in room couldn't turn of , shower took 2days to warm up , while the tv need a week to warm up and think it was the 90's , bed was hard pillows was from the 70,s and it looked onto an alleyway where you could by crack.
