Evergreen Villa - Sinharaja

Me gustó todo. Buena habitación, buena cama, buen baño, agua caliente. La comida muy buena y la atención genial, muy amables. A un paso de la entrada al Parque, te proporcionan el guía, que también era muy majo. Muy buenas vistas. Volvería.

Beautiful location and beautiful room. The owner was courteous and charming. Ready with a welcome drink. The room was simply stunning, beautiful linen, comfortable bed with great AC and WiFi. A lovely large balcony overlooking the river and forest. This place is a bird watchers dream!! We had a guided forest walk with a knowledgeable guide and swim option at the end. The following morning we got up at 6.30 and had a guided birdwatching walk both around the property and in the forest. We were rewarded with amazing views of the Blue Magpie. A great morning. We had a lovely meal at the property and an outstanding breakfast. Do yourself a favour and stay here for an amazing experience from start to finish!!

Location and cleanliness

The owner applied double standards to the local guests over foreign guests. Quantity of food portions ordered were noticeably low. The breakfast items indicated in the menu were served to the foreign guests but served something else to us (egg hoppers to the foreign guests but just plain hoppers to us. This is only one example). We were told check out time is 11am while booking says it’s 12pm.

Saman is an excellent host, and together with his team he did everything possible to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Their hospitality and dedication really stood out. The rooms are large, very clean, and beautifully maintained. Both the bathroom and the view from the room are real highlights and add a lot to the overall experience. The food was excellent throughout our stay. When we arrived, Kavishka, the chef, was testing a new burger bun, so we decided to try the chicken sandwich (submarine), which turned out to be very tasty. One of the highlights of our stay was the 3-hour guided nature walk with Dumidu. He was extremely dedicated and knowledgeable and tried his very best to show us as many animals as possible, which worked out very well. He explained that on the 6-hour and full-day tours, besides wildlife sightings, the experience increasingly includes waterfalls and longer hikes. This is ideal for guests who enjoy extended walks and waterfall experiences. Our personal focus, however, was on wildlife spotting, which made the 3-hour tour ideal for us. The location is another strong point, as the accommodation is only around 2 minutes from the park entrance, allowing quick and easy access to the rainforest. We would definitely recommend this accommodation and the 3-hour hike with Dumidu and would gladly return.

The location is excellent, it is just like some dream. The beds and room was very clean. We could see the rainforest from the bed and so it was very refreshing. Had a hearty chat with my family with the tea served at the backyard with the squirrels running arnd the trees and peacocks in the backdrop.

Die Villa liegt unglaublich schön direkt neben dem Nationalpark. Die Zimmer sind extrem modern, sauber und stilvoll eingerichtet und geben einem das Gefühl, direkt im Urwald zu sein. Es waren die besten , die wir in Sri Lanka hatten. Vom Balkon kann man direkt in den Wald blicken und unzählige Tiere beobachten. Wir haben sowohl eine Nacht- als auch eine Tagwanderung über die Unterkunft gebucht und können das sehr empfehlen. Die Organisation klappte reibungslos, die Guides waren top!

Wenn man Curry zu Mittag essen möchte, sollte man dies mit zeitlichem Vorlauf anmelden, da individuell frisch gekocht wird

We booked 1 night with 4 friends at this hotel as it is a very convenient place to start hikes through the Sinharaja forest. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the staff and brought to our rooms. These are very spacious, neat and comfortable. The view from the balcony over the forest is truly mesmerising. During our stay we booked via the hotel 3 hikes. One 3-hour hike, an evening hike, and the day after a 7-hour hike. All hikes were led by passionate guides of the hotel who took their time to show us a variety of animals and plants around the forest. The day hikes ended with a refreshing dive close to a beautiful waterfall.
