Home2 Suites By Hilton Portland Hillsboro

As a homeschool/roadschool family, we stay at roughly different 4-5 hotels a week from California through the PNW. This particular Home2 Suites location (Hillsboro) is by far our favorite this trip and noted to return again in the future. Here is our review of the things we appreciated the most, and also a couple of downers (that in no way warrants a deduction of stars, but fair to note). Pros- •The kitchen in our room was stocked with more supplies than we’ve had in the past. Fully equipped with a large colander, kitchen towels, paper towel roll, glass chopping board (not plastic), clean dishes, silverware, a toaster and even serving dishes with lids for leftovers to be stored in the fridge. The freezer and fridge were at actual temperature. We did opt to check-out an induction hot plate, a fry pan and lid. We brought our instant pot for multi-cooking options. •The “healthier” feel-good complimentary breakfast options. Menu items like, Buckwheat waffle batter, cage-free eggs (different cooked options), rice (and soy sauce), and fresh fruit (today we had blackberries)! •Spacious seating area inside and outside. We’re able to set up our laptops and watch lessons without any disruptions by others coming and going. There’s also a ton of outlets to charge devices as well! There’s even a cute little tomato garden with fruit on the vines, not to mention fire pits and multiple full size bbq grills. Cons- •Computer kept freezing and a “tech” never came to fix it. The front desk worker in the morning offered to print it for me if I emailed the document directly to her bc “it’s going to take forever” to get someone to come fix it. Apparently it’s typical after a busy weekend and kids play games that bring on viruses. So just keep that in mind if you rely on business center accessibility. The 2nd computer was frozen on the Home Screen and inoperable since we arrived. •Our shampoo ran out after the 3rd shower. It must’ve been low, which we wouldn’t never known. Unfortunately, there was absolutely no shampoo accessible to the night shift front desk associate to give us. So dad is left to use the bar of soap lol. Hopefully they’ll have some in the morning when the housekeeping team returns. Last but not least, and the most impactful for our stay here, was the hospitality of the night shift associate, Tenniel. She is the first and only one who even greeted us with sincere warmth this entire leg of our trip! Enough for us to pause and thank her for it bc great customer service and genuinely warm interactions are just few and far between these days. Her kindness was/is so appreciated and she deserves the recognition because it made all the difference to us despite running out of shampoo moments later. Knowing Tenniel was the one we would request more from, we were confident she’d actually try to locate some. And when she couldn’t, we trusted that was actually true. Her integrity shines through and for that, she is a gem! An asset to any hospitality team. Thank you Tenniel! Your customer service single handedly redeemed any deduction we would’ve taken from our review. All that to say, we look forward to our next stay here at the Hillsboro Home2 Suites.

Evening staff was amazing. Breakfast was far from the best.

Tenniel was so helpful and amazing! This hotel is well equipped and so clean and beautiful. Great location too! Close to food and shopping and safe!

Everything was top notch, clean & fresh and the price was extremely competitive. Hotel bedding seems to have gotten fairly skimpy in the last few years. We both commented that the pillows and bedding at this property were really excellent! Highly recommend!

We had a great stay here. The room was clean, loved having a small kitchen with dishes. Our kids loved the pool as well! Nicole was so nice and helpful when we checked in. Would definitely stay here again!

Very happy with the location, quiet neighborhood feel but close to freeway and restaurants. Nicole was extremely friendly and made check in a breeze. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was clean and staff is excellent.

After a long day on the road we arrived and Nicole instantly recieved our stress by showing the up most hospitality with checking in. She made our checking in process smooth and easy as possible.
