Keppel's Head Hotel

The location is perfect . The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was okay.

The extreme heat in the room spoilt our stay this time, even though it was not particularly hot outside. We could not open the window more than an inch and despite there being an air conditioning unit on the wall it was not working. We were given a fan which only circulated the hot air and not cooled the room at all. The room was also dusty in places and could have done with a deep clean. Not ideal conditions for my asthma. Dreadful experience for us both.

Het uitzicht vanuit de hotelkamer was nice en het personeel was erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk.

Het hele hotel is ouderwets en heeft achterstallig onderhoud. Vergane glorie, zoals ze dat zo mooi zeggen. Jammer, maar helaas.

The location is fantastic, it is opposite the train and bus stations and 2 minutes walk to Gunwarf Quays shopping outlet. The bus stop to Old Portsmouth and Southsea is just outside of the hotel. The cooked breakfast is very good and you can help yourself to yoghurt, cereal, fruit etc also. The staff are very nice too.

The shower pressure in room 28 was not great. The bottled water is not replenished, however there is a shop next door.
