The property was so lovely, exactly what we wanted for our stay in Kyoto.

Central Gion, a half block from the Gion Shimbashi (Tatsumi Bridge)- a very photogenic area with cherry trees and weeping willows lining the streets. Walking distance to Maruyama Park, Yasaka Pagoda and Pontocho Alley and even Nishiki Market. Loved exploring the little shops and cafes and narrow alley ways. We utilized the transparent umbrellas (good for viewing overhead cherry tree arches) and nice to come home to hot tea and a hot bath. Best sleep we had all vacation - the floor futons are as comfortable as the western beds. Fashionable bathrobes. The dare was to take pictures in them on the Tatsumi Bridge...

Make sure the thermostat to the hot water unit is working for the ceramic bath. The stairs are a bit steep for those who might be unsteady on their feet.

I didn't expect that it would be a whole house just for myself! The service was splendid, very polite and helpful. The house has everything you need, i.e. all the dishes. The interior is traditional and, very comfortable and nice.

Staying in this house was a great experience. The house was lovely, in a very central and beautiful location and had all you needed. Perfect place for a full Kyoto experience.

The house had a microwave, fridge and kettle. A sink to wash the dishes would have been good.
