The Hermitage Hotel

This hotel has a beautiful lobby, a clean room and rich history. The positives stop there. I have stayed in numerous 5-star hotels and resorts around the world. This property lacks any 5-star amenities and service. The front desk is standoffish. The hotel entry has a stale/sewage smell. There is no welcome drink, no complimentary water in the lobby, no on-site amenities other than an outdated fitness center. Complimentary coffee was offered for a small window in the morning. The room doesn't have a mini fridge! You can request one for $55. Seriously?!? I'm an iPrefer Titanium member - you get zero benefits from it. Even the welcome perk that the front desk said that I would receive at 4 pm on the day of check-in never came. I'm also still working on reconciling the quoted rate with the hotel. The Hermitage offers very little value, and I don't recommend it. We moved to the Virgin Hotel Nashville for the rest of our stay -- far more amenities and nicer service at a better rate.

Incredible hotel with exceptional service. From valet, to daily service, to front desk and reception. Exceptional in every way.

Favorite property in Nashville!

First the hotel is very nice. We were booked for 7 night and had prepaid in advance. We needed to leave a day early and was told by the front desk that because we booked with Orbitz we had to get a refund through them. After contacting Orbitz I was told only the hotel could refund the last day. The front desk staff was not helpful and bordering on rude but said the business office would look into the one night refund and they would get back to me. Of course they never did. For a hotel that charges in excess of 700$ a night you would think they might be a little more customer friendly . Next time we’re in Nashville we will likely stay elsewhere.

I can only give this hotel the worst review possible. We had a 4-day trip planned for September 2025 along with long time friends. We made the reservations in November 2024! That is correct. 10 months in advance. Our friends even used their membership in a high end vacation club called Inspirato. We received a call about 3 weeks prior to arrival informing us they could not accommodate our reservation. We were flabbergasted. It was as if we were on a Seinfeld episode. “You know how to take the reservation. You just don’t know how to hold the reservation”. There was little effort at accommodation . Horrible service and experience. The saving grace was our daughter who is a frequent business and leisure traveler to Nashville suggested 1 Hotel. Our experience there could not have been better. Much better hotel and in better location. Go to 1 Hotel and ignore Hermitage.

The reason for not 5 stars was the weddingreception in lobby. I made us feel very uncomfortable in the entrance. We felt likr we were intruding.

Fantastic stay. Location is terrific for those not into the noise of the downtown, but you could easily walk there if that is what you are looking for. Room was clean and comfortable and met all our requests. We ate both dinner and breakfast on property---all terrific and delicious. All staff (front desk, restaurant, bell/parking) were Four Seasons level---polite, engaging, proactive, thoughtful. Thank you---we'll be back!

The Hermitage goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and special. I would suggest a higher floor to avoid any noise from construction. Otherwise please do go eat at the restaurant and enjoy all this hotel has to offer. You won't regret it!
