Beautiful, historical Resort

Smelled like mildew

The room had a great view of the water. Very comfortable bed and the AC worked great.

Very nice staff and facility.

Ability to cancel reservation to relocate to close facility to venue.

Breakfast

The extra $25 for the facility fee after paying $35 to valet park. I tipped each time we picked up and left off the car which is what I wanted to do for those young men. The extra $25 for each day for facility fee after spending over $1000 for two nights (plus we paid cash for breakfast) just got to me for some reason, maybe because I wasn't told up front about this charge.

The hotel is gorgeous on the outside and the lobby is divine. Smells so good in the lobby. I asked what they used. The front desk provided the information. Everyone was friendly, the rooms were nice , but would not say over the top for what is cost per night. Love the history of the hotel pool area was nice. They also have a private beach across street but we didn’t have time to go there.

First our a/c was out. called front desk and engineering came to room and was able to get it working again but recommended we see if we could be moved. So at around 11:00 pm was through our stuff together and moved . The bathroom shower was not as nice and the first room and the bath towels were small and thin.. some were frayed at the end and second room did not have a fridge like the other room,but was considered an upgrade because it had partial view of water and pool. One wall was all mirror which seemed old and dated. The other room had fabric wallpaper. Marriott needs to do better.
