Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa

I recently stayed at this hotel with wife and child (11) in one room, and in-laws in another. Hotel is about 10 minutes drive from the Kelpies, set in nice grounds. Free parking too. The rooms are a little dated but comfortable enough and we slept fine. The swimming pool and gym on site were free to use and well maintained. There were no time restrictions for children in the pool. There was a lane cordoned off for up-and-down swimming, and the rest for leisure swimmers. Best way to do it imo. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. It was a nice atmosphere and we enjoyed our evening. Food was nice but a little overpriced for what it was. I suspect that quite a few diners were on a dining package though, so the cost is incorporated into the room rate (eg. we had £25 per room restaurant/bar credit in the booking). Tip - go for the Indian dishes on the menu. I didn't, and unfortunately my haggis scotch egg starter was overcooked and the haggis around the egg was so thin I couldn't taste it. But the Indian dishes were delicious, with plenty of prawns on the plate in both the starter and main dishes. The chicken tikka masala was also very good (so I'm told - wife wouldn't share it!) Breakfast was nice. It was a buffet during our stay, but I think they sometimes have a continental buffet and separate ordering for cooked food. The best thing about this hotel though is the staff. Megan on reception was a stand out, but all were really polite, hard working and a real asset to the hotel. I would stay again at this hotel.

Location very central for the motorway network.

Could do with some sort of Beer garden.

Check-in was done by welcoming staff. We were provided with lots of information regarding the hotel and options for our stay. The room, although dated, was clean and large. We enjoyed the spa, swimming pool, sauna and steam room. The hotel is large, and the car parking was good for us on a motorbike after completing the NC 500.

The hotel was great, but the water in the shower was so hot you couldn't use it. We also ate at the restaurant and felt the meal prices were high, given the portion sizes and choices.

The spa facilities were great and well looked after The room was very comfortable and had a really good amount of space The restaurant and bar were very good and the staff were great

Location was a bit out of the way The lock on the door was really difficult to use and could do with being looked at

We have been visiting the Inchyra Hotel And Spa monthly since 2025 . We have always found the hotel clean and comfortable, food is of a high standard and the staff in every department is polite friendly and very helpful . We are happy to continue to stay there when we visit our family in the area .

Booked a feature room supposedly with a walk-in shower- but got a standard room in the original part of the property - carpets worn, squeaky floor boards, decor in the hallway could be better, sockets not working, sockets hanging off wall. This was extortionate for what it was - there's a TV in the room with lots of cables on display but you couldn't watch it from the bed. It's a hotel near Falkirk so why is it so expensive.
