Old Waverley Hotel

Room was fantastic! View of Old Town and the Scott Monument. Comfortable bed and great bathroom with bathtub.

More warm options like pancakes for breakfast would have been great.

Excellent central location: easy to get to from Waverley Station (or from airport using tram service). The lounge is comfortable and welcoming, with a good range of drinks available. The windows have a great view across Princes Street to Old Town as well as looking onto the Scott Monument. The restaurant has a table in a bay window that's well worth trying to book (or grab) as it has a clear view of the Castle ! Our room overlooked Princes Street. It was clean and comfortable with the usual amenities: kettle, tea and coffee and bathroom toiletries. The housekeeping service was efficient and friendly. In spite of overlooking a very busy road the room was quiet The lighting in the bathroom was a little awkward for shaving as it was quite low and tended to keep faces somewhat in shadow. My OH found the mirror was also quite far back from the washbasin. We felt the hotel was reasonable value for money - it made a very good base for exploring Edinburgh. Staff on reception were very helpful and able to advise us on local bus services (we visited Rosslyn Chapel using local transport). There was no problem with leaving cases in a secure room if arriving before check-in time, or leaving after checkout time. Be aware that, like some other hotels in the city that are of a similar age, there are steps up to reception and no lift until the reception area is reached. Staff are on hand to help, though! The breakfast service is good with a reasonable selection in the hot buffet. Evening menu is rather limited and has little in the way of vegetables. Side salads are available.

My wife and I stayed several nights whilst visiting friends and exploring Edinburgh (our first time in Scotland). The floors creaked, bragging about their longevity (vinyl plank was laid on top of older floor). We appreciated the clean room and hotel, the on-site bar and great seating for evening tipple and chatting, and the wonderful views. The location could not be better, making it easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go (restaurants, the Royal Mile, friends' flat, castle, etc.

Had a great 3 night stay in a twin room facing Princes Street. It's an old building which added to the atmosphere. Lovely to relax with a nice drink in the lounge area. The room was clean and attended to every day. Nice touch to fill up the yummy biscuits every day! The breakfast was nice and had everything you needed. Great coffee machine. Shoutout for letting us have breakfast before the official opening time as we had an early flight on our departing day. All staff we met were nice - reception, cleaners, breakfast staff, bartender.

Temizlik, ilgi, alaka herşey çok iyiydi. Şehir merkezinde olması ayrıca büyük rahatlıktı.

La ubicación es estupenda. Cerca de la estación y fácil conexión con aeropuerto. También está cerca de todas las atracciones que hay que ver de la ciudad a pie. La habitación era muy amplia y tenía vistas al castillo.

Todo perfecto.
