Extended Stay America Suites - Los Angeles - Arcadia

I didn't care for the breakfast, it should be posted as continental breakfast. Jose (manager) was so sweet & kind. He made us feel very welcomed. The price per day is around $30/day more than other places. However, when you add up the costs of eating out, this place more than pays for itself. I like how quiet it is, you don't hear your neighbors. The little park like area at the back of the hotel was very enjoyable for our service dog

I didn't care much for some of rowdy looking people who hang around the property. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Location

Advertised kitchen utensils, hairdryer in room. There were none. The bathroom electrical outlet did not work. Hard water stains on sinks and tub.

Upon check in manager Jose stated we’d receive a discount as we did not have a working tv in the room. That to call booking.com after our stay. Upon heading into the room. The toilet was completed backed up and clogged. After my stay i called booking and manager denied the claim. We had no tv for our stay and were told we’d receive a discount.

NOTHING!!! We were ripped off by this joke of a hotel. We requested late check in when we booked the hotel. It said they offer 24 front desk. When we arrived they said they cancelled our room because it was after 11 pm. (The clerk pointed to a sign posted on the wall. This is not mentioned on the booking document) The clerk asked for my ID and credit card. I assumed it was to give us our room (which they had). Instead, she used my credit card to charge me for the first night and refused to give us a room. She claimed she could not give us a room because the system was closed down for auditing. This place is a total SCAM. How dishonest to tell us, "Let me look it up. Give me your ID and credit card, when she knew she had no intention of giving us a room. Extended stay has lost my business FOREVER! I will not stay at any one of their locations. We know this is a low budget place with low ratings, but this was a last minute trip for a funeral. Our expectations were not high, but this set the bar to a new low. Unheard of. Terrible way to run a business. The robot of a clerk just kept repeating the same thing with no interest in seeing my reservation document, or making any attempt to help us.

Shame on you for treating your customers this way! Booking.com should not do business with this horrible place. We did not like that this hotel charged us for a room, but refued to give us the room. No where in my reservation documents did it say that they would not check us in, if we arrived after 11 pm. It said there was 24 hour front desk service. The clerk was so dishonest. After she told us our room was cancelled, she said, "Give me your ID and credit card and I'll look it up." Then she charged me for the room and told me she couldn't give it to us. Who does that? Really! Extended Stay has lost my business forever. My husband and I travel three months of the year. We will never give you any of our business again. Ever!

Location was convenient to our needs

Dirty. Room was not clean, we ended up going out to buy cleaners to wipe down the tub and surfaces before use, found trash under the beds. Hallways could use a vacuum, exterior trash bins overflowing. Despite the no smoking policy it was obvious some residents use tobacco or cannabis in their rooms
