Sonesta Simply Suites Irvine Spectrum

Nice. Clean. Spacious room.

This is a great value for the money charged. It’s a bit dated and tired but still loved. You must drive to anything but that’s typical in Irvine. The staff is terrific.

We had a comfortable stay. Convenient location to freeways and Spectrum shops. Room was large with comfortable bed and kitchen. The first room assigned had a very loud refrigerator but they were able to give us a different room right away. Parking was seven dollars a night.

I liked my 1 bedroom queen suite, the bed and the pillows.

Surly check in, refusal to tell me how much it was. Said it was whatever Booking said Lie. It was Double the booking amount $$$ Unexplained, it was a little heart stopping. No mention anywhere on wifi, how to get ice, any perks of amenities. The desk person told another guest no ice, icemakers in room fridge. But they are bone dry. So apparently sge has turn on, whatever her ice machine and has to wait a couple hours before she can get ice. (Ours had no directions and was unfamiliar, no durections,so no ice for us.) There was no information anywhere on amenities (wifi, store, upgrades) or where you could get a cup of coffee, or get breakfast, or food. Nothing fast food or open after hours seems near by. I had asked for extra blankets, but did not get them and the front desk experience towards myself and another guest was so poor, I really didn't want to deal with how she treated people I avoided thefront desk. It was more like visiting a prison than a hotel. The 1 bedroom suite was very nice. I loved the bed and the pillows.The parrking lot noise was a bit loud.

Everything was simple and clean. Would recommend this place.

We have stayed at this property before and had a better experience. This time was sufficient for our need of a single overnight stay with a late check-in (after 9pm) and early check-out (by 6am), but it was not a good experience. We were told we couldn't earn loyalty points at check-in because we booked through Expedia and therefore, the hotel wasn't getting paid (only Expedia was); this has never been the case before. There was no towel bar in the bathroom, just two sharp brackets that were an injury hazard. The TV did not work and the remote for the TV had dead batteries. The refrigerator had a stale and musty smell. It felt like we were put in a room that was halfway prepped.

Charged a parking fee when I checked in despite Expedia stating that the quoted price was the price that I would pay.
