Extended Stay America Select Suites - Chicago - Hanover Park

Property was good and staff was excellent. Room was very clean and smell good.

The next door room occupant had people knocking,punching , screaming calling the occupant name from outside at the parking lot and kicking the door for more than 2 hours for they could come in at 2 am in the morning. Call front desk and no one picked up after 25 minutes. An answering service called and call the front desk to notify the situation. Nothing was done and the loud noises still continued. Finally after two hours the occupant opened the door and i could go to sleep. I miss the wedding ceremony that was scheduled at 8am due to an Indian tradition. The wedding was the reason for my trip to chicago from New York. The following day in the morning was the opening and slamming doors to close them. Called front desk and they took care of situation due to no more door slamming and finally i could sleep my anger off due to i miss the weeding ceremony due to all the commotion at 2 am.

They never came down to check us in and there was no way to cancel my room. I called and they told me they couldn’t refund me although they were the ones who didn’t show up after 20 minutes and we decided to leave

Waited for over 30 minutes. Clean enough, quiet. Took so long to check in. If you arrive late and exhausted it, be prepared to wait 20-40 minutes for the person to even let you into the front door. I will definitely choose somewhere else next time we are in town.

Location was good in Hanover park with supermarkets on distance and some fast food resturants

They didn't allow me to check in. Marked me as a no show, charged 96 usd and have not refunded me yet

Staff is great, the rooms have seen better times, lots of scuffs and chips. Bed sheets and towels are changed every 2 Weeks!! No utensils, plates or any cookware as before, now it comes as an extra charge, so nothing about this hotel is basically an “Extended Stay” just a fridge probably and Vintage, electric stove….. Staff is great, but their hands are tied on what corporate has done to the place most likely.

Overall, the property is in rather good condition, however, Saturday afternoon, around 4pm, the elevator suddenly quit working and guests were not notified, nor were any signs placed on or near the elevator. This made it rather difficult as Saturday night we had to carry two heavy wedding gifts down three flights of stairs and the next morning we had to carry all of our luggage, including a larger cooler, down the same amount of stairs.
