The County Hotel

Room was a good size

Booked a dog friendly room. Then was charged an additional £20 on arrival for the dog without any warning. Also had to pay an extra £8 to use the hotels car park. This should be included in the price of the room. If we had known about a nearly £30 on top of the room price definitely would not have booked. Room clearly hadn't been cleaned, only beds changed, thick dust on skirting boards and on side round the bathroom.

Traditional and right in the middle of everything

It was very central but very noisy. Loud music from local bars until the early hours of the morning.

The bath panel was hanging off, as was the headboard on one of the twin beds, the bath did not drain properly so while having a shower I was standing in a puddle, the corridors smell stale, the hotel is dated

Comfortable beds good shower, lovely staff,

Breakfast poor, Under cooked bacon, sausage and eggs, overall cold and poor beverages.

Location is brilliant literally 2 minutes from the station. Bed was so comfortable I struggled to get up in the morning.

External noise was an issue as the hotel is close to many pubs and nightspots. Ear plugs were provided and they made the noise manageable

Received a nice welcome. Very comfortable beds. Location is very central to shops & restaurants.
