The County Hotel

proximity to station and town centre.

Poor plumbing. Toilet difficult to flush. Cold tap needed a washer. Noisy as herring gulls nesting on flat roof near bedroom window. window difficult to shut. Noisy drunken guests next door one night.

after waiting almost 30 mins to check in and get my room key(at 9pm) i had been traveling across the country for work and was exhausted , i laid on my bed when i finally got into my room , to hear a few minutes later a key opening my door and a couple walking in who had been given the key by mistake to my room! i had been due to stay for 2 nights but disnt return on night 2 as didnt feel safe , secure and unable to rest

The lady on reception wasnt friendly atall. Didn't make us feel welcomed. Very bad attitude. Also there was tea/ coffee stains on the sheets so wasnt happy with the hygiene

Perfect stay friendly welcome clean, had a slight issue with loud music early hours but zack on reception very quickly and professionally dealt with this within minutes well done and thankyou,

Location perfect.

The place has a seedy air, of a once fine hotel heading downhill. Moth-eaten carpets, poky little showers, paintwork fading, dreadful breakfast with rubber scrambled egg, the rest characterless and self-served in the most awkward, ill-designed area imaginable.

Closeness to centre.

Slept 3 hours the day before my run and all I could hear was music coming from the bars. Had to move quilts and pillows into bathroom as was only option to semi cut out the noise pollution.
