We stayed at Hotel Santa Barbara for two nights and honestly had such a great experience. We picked it for the location (you really can’t beat it) and the fact that it’s dog friendly, and they absolutely delivered on both. Check-in was quick and easy, and they immediately gave my dog Lobo a treat, which obviously won them points right away. They offer dog bowls and beds, and we ended up using the bed, which Lobo approved of, so that says everything. The hotel itself is super clean, updated, and just really beautifully decorated without feeling over the top. It felt comfortable but still a little elevated, if that makes sense. At checkout, Alex and Christine were at the front desk and came over to give Lobo some birthday love (yes… we were celebrating his 12th 😅), which was such a sweet touch. Every single employee we interacted with, from valet to housekeeping, was genuinely friendly and welcoming. They do offer valet, and the gated parking at night made me feel really safe leaving my car there, which I appreciated. We’d absolutely stay here again—no question.

It was beautiful, SAFE and perfect. It was in the middle of everything I loved it! No Ubers or anything were needed. So much fun.

The Hotel Santa Barbara is a quaint, boutique hotel, situated with its main entrance right off of State Street. It has a clean, modern, coastal, and relaxed feel to it. One thing you'll probably notice immediately walking into the hotel lobby is a very inviting, fresh scent in the air. We were told it's the signature scent of the hotel. Our room was on the 4th floor with a nice view of the surrounding city. The room, just like the hotel lobby, has a quaint, modern, coastal feel. The refrigerator was well stocked, organized, and cold which isn't always the case with the small refrigerators. We were able to a little bit of food and snacks and the refrigerator and not worried about it being cold enough. The bathroom was clean, well organized, had ample towels, and the temperature of the bath/shower water was perfect. The Hotel Santa Barbara is a dog friendly hotel, which made our trip with our fur son even more enjoyable and relaxing. Alex and the front desk staff are very helpful and welcome you back when returning into the lobby. The valet staff were also very polite and offered assistance several times even though we didn't need any. Overall we had a very pleasant visit to the hotel, enjoyed our room, and all of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I recommend staying here if you want a place close to downtown, that you can walk in and out of with plenty of places to eat, shop, and visit in the surrounding neighborhood. Our accommodations were more than adequate fo our stay. If you want something different than your typical big brand hotel, try staying at the Hotel Santa Barbara.
