Sleep Inn Gaffney at I-85

Noise from interstate high but slept well with white noise of heater and tv turned on low.

The door to the back entrance did not lock. Stayed open all the time

Considering hurricane Helene just hit SC, I was happy to find reservations.

I was sent a confirmation email that my special request to check in early had been approved, however, the room was not ready for check-in when I arrived. The rooms are very outdated especially the bathroom, not sure why the doors have a doorbell on them, but I found that odd especially since they did not work, curious as to what their purpose is.

Property sits right on I-85 so is noisy.

This establishment needs a complete reboot. Upon entering the room we were immediately hit with a strong musty odor. Further, the carpet was stained and was not vacuumed. The bathroom towels were damp, requiring us to request a new set from the front desk staff. There were mutiple stains on the walls, not to mention the evidence of moldy discoloration on the ceiling. Under normal circumstances we would have refused the room and requested a refund. Unfortunately, due to Hurricane Helene, all hotels in the area were at full occupancy, so we made the best of it and purchased a cheap stick vacuum, carpet fresh, and Febreze from Wal-Mart to help with the smell and dirty carpet. The hotel staff was friendly and apologetic as the hurricane caused an outage of the Internet and cable television. Check-in was also a little challenging as the staff had to rely on using a cell phone to confirm the reservation.

So loud from trucks you cannot sleep. Bad smell and not very clean.

I really liked the customer service whenever we first arrived. It was really nice and they was helpful. I really liked the hot chocolate that was available.

Firstly, the tv did not work. Secondly, the lady at the desk when we was leaving was rude, she said we couldn't leave the hotel until we signed out I don't know if that if y'all's policy but my partner and I had a lot of items with us we was struggling because we had so much stuff. I couldn't go put it in the car and come back.
