The hotel was having a full refurbishment. Excellent.

The bed comfort was good. Location good. Breakfast good. We had a family room and the grandchildren were happy. The children’s food was free and they enjoyed it. The pool area was good.

We should have been told when booking that the hotel was being renovated. My wife and I ordered 5 small plates between us for our evening meal. Overall the food was below standard and overpriced.

There were works in progress that we were not notified of.there was a lot of noise outside from work men comings and goings and working outside our room at 8.30 am disturbing a much anticipated lie in.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Everything worked perfectly. It would have been nice to a fridge in the room.

We have stayed here many time before and have always been loyal to the hotel. We noticed the prices had gone up considerably but despite of this we still booked as this was our happy hotel.. but if i knew what i saw after arrival i wouldn't have bothered... if a planed overhaul was going to be made notification would of been nice before booking. As the hotel was full of dust.. work ad excessive banging throughout the bank holiday including very early.. the leisure facilities i.e pool was a mes builders fencing around 1/3 of the erea. The staff behind the bar was non existence 20mins i had to wait at one point while the staff had a fag!!! And this happened to others aswel while we sat down... i can see the new ownership are literally here for profit and nothing else. Its a shame that we will no longer return to this hotel gain and that makes me sad as we have been coming here since my girl was born. Shame... great shame

Another great stay at this hotel. It’s been over 3 years since I stayed here for business and I was back for leisure this time. The hotel is undergoing a little refresh so you may find painters working or other workmen and noise, but all work noise stopped by 6pm. Our double room was spacious enough for two. The bed was ridiculously comfortable. So good in fact I’ve just ordered the bed topper used our bed. The room temp was spot on. The bath had an over bath shower, my advice for that is choose a much lower water temp than you’d usually have and test from the bath tap, as the temp does fluctuate when you’re in the shower. The shower was powerful, which made a lovely change. Our room was nice and quiet, the only disturbance was other bedroom doors slamming. Use the handle and close the door softly behind you rather than letting is slam closed, those sleeping will thank you. Sadly on our second night a group of feral children were left on their own and the night manager had to intervene more than once after they were running between group rooms and running up and down corridors at silly o’clock in the morning. Shameful behaviour from their parents for leaving them alone but the hotels hands were tied given the children were minors. There were a lot of tired people at breakfast this morning thanks to that wedding group (which wasn’t being held in the hotel). We ate in the Olive restaurant for breakfast and dinner. There’s lots of choice for breakfast and a great menu for dinner. The garlic mushrooms for a starter were immense! We didn’t use the pool as with it being Easter weekend the hotel was full of families and adult only swims were limited so the pool was full until almost 7pm both nights. Overall a great stay, feral children to one side, and I’d happily stay again!

The room was clean and comfortable, good pool, and really friendly staff.

There was work going on which was a shame and a little noisy and disruptive as some facilities weren't available. Some things on the breakfast buffet ran out though they were topped back up.
