Copthorne Hotel Cardiff-Caerdydd

The staff were lovely, very informative and thorough on check in. The room was very spacious and clean. And we had A great view of the lake in the morning. Plenty to see and do around the hotel so you’ll never get bored!

Overall the staff at the dinner function I attended were superb, room over rated, and expensive & bathroom needed painting, wardrobe doors creak when opening, bed is comfortable, view of lake was limited and view from bedroom window showed large roof below which had several missing tiles …. Needs repair. Breakfast ok limited vegetarian choice only beans / tomatoes toast etc. check in ! Takes along time … check out excellent

Room comfortable, evening meal limited and not great , breakfast very poor. Bacon and beans were stone cold (fridge cold), toaster would just warm the bread no matter how long it stayed in, quite poor and will not stop again.

Very clean and friendly, could do with extra help in the bar, very slow with just 1 guy there, who is a perfectionist with his drinks order. Very frustrating waiting for the person in front to have 2 G & T with all the fancy bits and all you need is apint of larger. Food and waitress service was brill

Nice sized rooms, comfortable bed, good bathroom. A lovely lake with verandah to sit by.

The hotel was nice but across the corridor there was a barking dog which disturbed our night waking up several times over the night.

The gutter/eaves outside our window had a constant drip which was annoying; there were cobwebs on the room ceiling in more than 1 place. No newspaper delivery service - why not? Cannot fathom why that has anything to do with Covid, that was disappointing. When commented on this to the reception was told " I don't know, I've only worked here for a few weeks". Why do I want to know that? What has that got to do with my newspaper delivery? Why didn't that person know or offer to find out? They should have been told. The corridors/entrance hall was fine for cleanliness. The bed was very comfortable. The service was good, the breakfast good. Should have been a small price reduction for non availability of the leisure facilities - one reason we booked this Cardiff hotel over others. The room a good size. The terrace had cigarette butts on and the glass front to it was green with algae. Needs a really good clean, and the galvanised steel staircase too.
