Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa

The surroundings and the grounds are beautiful. The facilities are also amazing

The tv in our room didn’t work and we had two people trying to sort and took over an hour in our evening time which was ideal. Breakfast we had to wait 25 minutes to get the coffee we ordered when we first arrived. The gentleman serving us didn’t have a great attitude when I asked if we could get our coffees again as we had already finished our breakfast when they arrived

Staff great, ambience lovely, perfectly tranquil and calm setting. Nice and quiet. Bar manager, asian gentleman was Excellent! Asked for ceasar salad with no anchovies and it came to table and immediately saw than anchovies had been added in and took it away to be replaced. However when it was replaced, they hadn't done a new salad, when I didn't finish it the Bar manager, saw that I hadn't and realised there were still anchovies in and without asking took if off the bill.

No one to park your car or greet you on arrival as there used to be. Long way to walk. No air conditioning, room hot, check in late 4.pm and you had to pay £60 to use the facilities when you arrive earlier!!, Very poor. We had a higher grade smart room at £575, Also, no breakfast when you book with booking.com, breakfast included on website. they could have done something on earl arrival to at least give you a discounted rate to visit the pool a couple of hours earlier, or not charge at all. Bar food appalling! Caesar salad very poor, chicken hard as nails, cold and clearly a few days old, not much there, and a tiny bit of cheese, my wife ordered some chicken nibbles at bar, had bones in. Chef here is very poor, and clearly not sub-standard, he needs a dressing down , or to be fired! Breakfast in morning, said fruit was drizzled with elderflower sauce, when the fruit came, there was no sauce, and they said they had run out. Eat somewhere else, in our opinion chef is useless!

Spa and indoor pool are excellent as are the staff and the food.

There nothing really not to like. It’s a large complex and may cater for some corporate events but the look and feel is of a very high aspirational standard.

Great spa but felt a bit chintzy . Feels very dated and also over priced. Very commercialized and busy. Staff excellent , food was good but to few staff on the floor and food did not match pricing Food in the spa much better
