"Non-smoking" room smelled of cigarettes. Complained to employee at front desk and he said there was another room available -- that one smelled even worse. Door to room did not shut properly, so if we were to leave the room, anyone could walk in. Complained to same staffer who said it couldn't be fixed that day. AVOID this place at all costs.

Checking in was easy get to the room and it’s someone else’s stuff in there trash beds unmade so then they give us a different room and it looked okay but there was bugs around the room the bathtub was dirty the carpet was filthy!!!! We will not be returning!!

I'm torn between 2 and 3. I wouldn't call it average though, it is below average. Pros: proximity to our friends' house, very inexpensive, gracious and helpful staff, clean sheets and towels, room was quiet, didn't see any bugs, plenty of hot water, good AC, it felt safe, if sketchy. Cons: although it's said to be no smoking, when we entered our room it had a stale tobacco smell. The AC was off, so it was also stuffy and humid. Once we got the room cooled, the smell abated slightly. Didn't feel clean. I found a large wad of fuzz (hair?) on top of the in-room safe. The drain the bathtub had also not been cleaned out. That said, the counter tops appeared fine. The toilet didn't flush properly. We had one awful clog, and I felt badly for the maintenance person who had to deal with it. However, once they had, they did nothing to clean the toilet. It looked gross on our return, and I had to clean it myself. It would have been helpful if management had left us a plunger at least. Only one hanger in poor condition. Later I found a second one hiding under the safe. Beds were a bit lumpy, so not my best sleep. The pillows were thin, but enough when put together. Everything is worn and quite tired; I think even if the floor were clean, it's so old that the stains are set in. All in all, would I stay here again? I doubt it if I can afford something better. However, if you need a quick, cheap overnight stay, you could do a lot worse.

Room had dead bugs and gnats flying around, light in the sink area was out. The onky reason i have stayed here several times is the close proximity to boat access to lake St. Clair. Best 5/10

I purchased for three days and pulled him out of there 2 days early. O you want a refrigerator that’s extra o you want a microwave that’s extra or by the way you need to pay in cash $20.00 check in fee. After I just paid $ 221.00. Never again will stay at a red roof inn. Garbage Keep the 20 and two day stay cost. What a joke
