Belhuish Farmhouse

Excellent host-Rod entertained us with anecdotes and lots of local knowledge on places to visit. He has top sense of humour and definitely very welcoming. The surroundings are serene and beautiful. Regarding cleanliness...there were lots of visible cobwebs around the corners of the rooms and walls..it is a pity as it is the only thing that needs attention however I canwsit to go again !

We stayed to visit Bovington Tank museum, though traffic caused us to arrive very late, Rod (the host) we on hand, happy and helpful when we finally arrived. It feels more like visiting an old family member than staying in a B&B. Very personal experience and a pleasure to stay, especially over breakfast.

This accommodation is a wonderful alternative to characterless hotels. Everything was spotlessly clean, the bed very comfortable and the breakfast came with the lovely surprise of having it in a traditional farmhouse kitchen. The delicious food was complemented by the warm, homely ambience as well as the interesting chats with Rod about history, local places and also his adventures abroad.

Lovely peaceful stay on a farm in the countryside with beautiful garden. Welcoming owners. And great location for getting to local attractions easily (Monkey World, Durdle Door, Tank Musuem).

We had a great stay with Rod. He welcomes you into his home. He knows the whole area, so can recommend places to see, places to eat. We had great chats over breakfast., which was lovely. We will definitely stay there again.

My partner and I had a lovely stay. It was a beautiful location and the host Rod, was extreamly welcoming and friendly. Plus he cooked up a delicious fry up!

Well Belhuish Farmhouse was very pleasant relaxing and enjoyable on the whole, a bit rustic so might not be to everyones taste, as slightly out the way but thats part of the charm and the farm house has that in spades, If you drive its no issue. The Farmhouse still looks and feels like you could be anywhere in time, from today or back 20-30 years. Rod the host is a very nice straight up fella and does a smashing poached egg on toast. My partner and I had a great time visiting various places that are within a short drive away, which for us meant cabs as we don't drive (Dorset bus services being a bit variable and not cheap) Still all attractions can be reached and cab drivers are friendly lot and not too costly and the Jurassic coast the scenery is beautiful (Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove especially) definitely worth it, do the coastal path walk. Lots of rural pubs that serve nice food and drink fairly local in Wool and Lulworth providing a friendly atmosphere in fact everywhere we visited; Lulworth castle, Monkey World Tank Museum all had the nicest most helpful people and the farmhouse is great place to go back to after the days visits to relax in a quiet tranquil country setting, sitting in the garden (with a beer) with just the noise of nearby sheep, cows, songbirds and a few chickens Rod has about the farmhouse, in a few words, the Farmhouse is friendly, pleasant, quiet, relaxing and enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a break from city life.

Very clean , towels were super soft and good quality, bed was comfortable, bedding clean and smelt fresh ! ….
