Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Mariott Hotel in Curaçao and we truly had the best time ever. Our time was made especially special through the staff here who are the most welcoming, kind people I have ever met. Specially Jaymy who took care of our every need, provided amazing service and made amazing drinks. Along with John C. The staff here cares about the experience you get from the hotel and it would not be the same without them. I can’t wait to be able to come back and see the familiar faces and be met with the same care and hospitality that the staff provides. Truly a great time at the Mariott and cannot recommend it more! We had an excellent stay at this resort! We were welcomed with a cocktail and were able to check in to our room early. Our room was lovely, spacious, and the bed was comfy, although it seemed like the a/c couldn’t quite keep up with the heat and humidity. The beach front room was literally steps from the sand - we had a nice little private patio that led to the main beach area. The reef on the property is great for snorkeling. The free parking is definitely a bonus, since you really do need a car to get around the island. All in all, a great stay, and would definitely recommend.

I have never experienced customer service as disgraceful and devoid of basic human decency as what my family experienced at the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort. After my flight was unexpectedly canceled, my sister — who was clearly listed on the reservation as an additional guest — arrived at the hotel exhausted and simply trying to check in so she could rest. Instead of showing even a shred of compassion or professionalism, supervisor Julien Angelista refused to allow her to check in because I was the “primary” guest on the reservation. What made this even more outrageous was that a Marriott customer service representative personally spoke with the hotel to explain the situation and advocate on our behalf. Even after corporate customer service intervened, Julien still refused to help and treated my sister abominably. There was no attempt to accommodate. No empathy. No solutions. Just arrogance, rigidity, and an astonishing lack of hospitality from a property that claims to represent the Marriott brand. Flights get canceled. Travel disruptions happen. Competent hotels understand this and work with guests to resolve issues reasonably and respectfully. Instead, the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort chose to humiliate paying customers over a technicality despite having verification, confirmation, and direct communication from Marriott itself. A hospitality supervisor should know the difference between enforcing policy and abusing discretion. Julien failed spectacularly at both customer service and leadership. I will never stay at this property again, and I strongly caution travelers against expecting professionalism, compassion, or common sense from this hotel’s management team.

Super clean rooms with great views of the cruise ships! Rooms are exactly as pictured online with great lighting and a lot of plugs to charge devices if needed. The pool and bar/kitchen on the upper level are a good plus if you want to chill on the property for the day. Every staff I interacted with were very accommodating and super helpful in recommending taxis, spots to visit, places to get food and getting around the island. We had a slight issue with our bathroom, but they didn’t even take 15 minutes to resolve it. Housekeeping stays on top of cleaning everyday. Also, the hotel is placed at a very safe & convenient location- close to most of the highly visited areas & excursions by the beaches. There is also a casino, atm, & breakfast cafe as you exit the hotel across the street. There are no noise disturbances from other rooms or anything either.

We just got home from the Marriott Beach resort and had a great time. All the staff that we encountered were very nice and friendly; never ran across anybody that was rude. I booked and stayed in an oceanfront room with two beds for three people. The room was very nice, had plenty of space and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious, tons of storage, nice water flow in the shower. There are three restaurants and since the property is a little bit isolated, we ate at all three restaurants. The people that I was traveling with are extremely picky eaters so hamburgers and pizza were eaten more times than I would like to admit. The prices were typical hotel prices, but actually were not much more than eating out at home in California. The steakhouse was very good and in particular the crab cakes were the best crab cakes we have ever eaten. They were hot tasty and three times bigger than anything we get home for about the same price. I had a fillet, which was very good. Another restaurant is located by the family swimming pool, which has a lot of under cover, shaded seating as well as seating out on the beach and near the pool. I had read several reviews that the service was pretty poor at this property, but tend to believe that most of the people that complain are professional complainers. I don’t really have anything to complain about. The only suggestion that I would have is that restaurant menus and hotels tend to be somewhat limited and I would’ve liked to have a little more selection. The third restaurant was in the lobby and has an Asian flair with a large bar. At night there was entertainment; a singer and two or three people with various instruments. There is also a pretty nice lounge for Marriott elite members, and we had breakfast there each morning. The staff there was also very friendly and helpful. There was what I would say pretty good breakfast, not spectacular but OK. There was always lots of juices, water, and alcohol to make most kinds of adult beverages. We were usually out in the afternoon, but there were snacks in the afternoon that mostly consisted of candy, junk food, and cookies. Each evening from 5 to 7 PM there was more dinner type food and a couple nights we did have dinner in the lounge. Other nights the food was not to our liking and we either ate in one of the restaurants or went into town. The property also has a dive shop and the people there were equally as friendly. There was one day a week where they had a free snorkel tour, and we took advantage of that where we saw the farm just beyond the breakwater where they are raising different types of coral to be planted for reef reconstruction. The beach itself on this property varies, depending on the exact location. The entire time we were there, it was extremely windy and portions of the beach had no waves where other portions of the beach sometimes had waves that would make entering the water for snorkeling a bit difficult. The breakwater did a good job to keep the swimming area calm for the most part by the visibility was not that great because of the wind. Because we wanted to see really good clear water, we did a private guided snorkel tour, which was really nice and if anybody is interested we went out with Remy of Remyx Tours and saw lots of larger fish, turtles, several tropical birds including magnificent, frigetbirds, brown boobies and terns, flying fish, and even a flying tuna that jumped out of the water. I read many comments before we left that people found that they could spend a lot more time on the island than a week and I think that we agree with that scenario. We did see a lot, but with the extreme heat and not being the type of people that sit around the pool or sit in the sun, we could’ve used a few more days to just do some more exploring. This is a great property whether you have a group (we saw a large wedding party and an organized to a group from the Netherlands), a family or a couple.

Location was great. Jaymy who worked the outside beach are was amazing. Ingrid in the coffee shop was polite and always smiling. Both went above and beyond !!
