Elkotel - The Newest Hotel in Elko

Clean.

The hotel is overpriced. It's not a new hotel, just renovated. The cook top takes forever to heat. Hotel had no ice. The couch in the room seemed worn such that we didn't sit on it. The bed is right next to the air conditioner so that it blows cold right on the person sleeping next to it. The room was overall OK just not for the price. For the price I would expect more.

No housekeeping service; stayed there for 3 nights. No fresh towels, no trash removal or turndown service.

The staff was pleasant.

It was filthy. Broken flagstones outside with piles of trash and over flowing garbage cans. Dirty carpet and furniture. Our room had 4 bath towels but only 1 washcloth and hand towel.

The mattress was firm though not hollow. Very comfortable.

The facility is very tired. Needs refresh. Plaster coming away from wall in bath. Same exact artwork every 10 feet down the hallway. No kitchen plates, cups, utensils despite a kitchen in the suite.

I was impressed when I first got there with how well it was decorated. The people are the front desk were kind overall but I felt like I kept having to greet them first to get their attention.

When we went into the room, we saw a huge stain on the bed skirt that looked like vomit. There was a clump of blonde hair on the side of the tub where we'd put our toiletries. There was black hair clogging the tub so when we showered the tub filled with water and would drain very slowly. We kept hearing slamming doors all afternoon and throughout the night. They were very very loud for some reason and would startle us. There were just a lot of little things that led to an overall poor experience, which is unfortunate considering this was a stop on our Honeymoon.
