Hillwinds Inn - Blowing Rock

Very convenient and pleasant location

First, this place has three things going for it: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. It is walking distance to most of the in town Blowing Rock attractions and you can back your car right up to your room which is convenient. But, the website photos are a bit deceptive. It’s not quite so quaint and cozy in person. It’s actually a bit of a run down motel at deluxe inn prices. Our room featured peeling paint, spiders, and a sticky layer of dust on some surfaces. At half the price, I would have found it quite practical and adequate. It just doesn’t have the cozy mountain inn feeling and hospitality focused staff you’d expect for $269/night.

Beds were not comfortable. Need to be replaced!

Awesome location close to downtown.

Parking was a challenge with the work truck parked by the garage.

The Tarheel Suite was spacious and the furnishings were comfortable. It was an easy walk to the town and there were many restaurants around Hillwinds Inn. We loved our accommodations and quick response by the staff. We will stay there again and highly recommend,

The property was small and nice looking. Our room was clean and cozy.

Our rooms shower was a little confusing at first but we managed, in the bathroom there was a piece of hair on the wall.

The hot water heater for one whole row of rooms was out. They offered to move us, but we had already unpacked. We decided not to move. The desk attendant kept checking to make sure we had received his messages, so he was very conscientious.
