Quality Inn Van Horn

Front desk would not guarantee a smoke-free room even though it was well-advertised to be a “100% non-smoking hotel”. WiFi internet did not work.

Rooms need to be cleaned better. The person who clean my room obviously didn’t care that there was a blob of the previous peoples toothpaste in the sink. Hair is on the counters, the top of the coffee maker had dust on it. No customer service at check-in or check out anymore. If you do catch a live person behind the counter, they point to the kiosk nearby, where you turn it on and a man from India with a headset comes on the screen and takes all your information.

Odor of urine and mildew. Suspect that is someones pet. Stains on couch and csrpet.

There is a pool on the property, but it was not in use.

We stayed at Quality Inn for 1 night on road trip. The reason I selected it was due to it advertising a swimming pool - unfortunately when we arrived it was drained and looked like it had been that way for sometime. Positives: comfortable bed. AC worked well and shower powerful and hot. Negatives: no pool. Several dead beetles in bedroom. Hair conditioner in room empty. AC loud but to be fair it drained out traffic /train noise from outside so that was preferable. Receptionist on check in not very friendly (ones in morning a lot better) Although check out was 11 breakfast stopped at 9.30. Breakfast was ok - no fresh orange juice or fruit

The property was located right off the highway. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom needed a little work. The pool was closed and had no water in it. Luckily we were just passing through. I didn’t think the place was nice enough for the cost.

The virtual checkin SUCKS! It took 12 plus minutes to get the kiosk to work. I could not understand the agent. He issued a key that did not work and I had to go back for a new key. I will not be back to any QI if this is there new level of disservice.

Bed was comfortable and I got a good nights sleep and good scrambled eggs for breakfast. There wasn’t a place to hang clothes except for the shower curtain rod. There was a light out in the bathroom. Juice machine was out of order. There was an overpowering odor in the lobby when I arrived. It smelled like moth balls. In the morning he was spraying for bugs outside of all the rooms, which is probably what the sell was. Toxic.
