Baymont by Wyndham Portage Indiana Dunes

Don’t expect anything great from this. First room was nasty. Switched us to another room that was a bit better. The smell made two of our four stay in another hotel. What’s for breakfast you ask? Well uncooked gooey pancakes..? The pool was the worst smelling pool room ive ever been in. The one good thing? Every single member of the staff was the friendliest you’ll find.

The stay was average. TV didn't work and noticed something behind TV cabinet...chicken nugget?

The pool area was dirty and had such a horrible smell u had to cover your nose walking into,children were diving into pool area on top of other guest swimming as parents sat and watched or left them unattended.myself and another guest complained to front desk how unsafe that was and she didn’t care at all and shrugged her shoulders and went about her business on her phone,As safety at a hotel she be a huge concerns to guest but apparently not here,our room was on 2nd floor and began pouring in water in the bathroom due to the people above us overflowing the tub and basically front desk brushed it off so we couldn’t even shower nor offered to switch rooms.

Staff very friendly and helpful

Place was clean, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend and will stay again if in the area. Only downside was the elevator was very warm all the time.

The hotel was okay you get what you pay for. My biggest reason for the rating is my dog got fleas from here. Hes never had fleas before in his life and hes 12. A little better cleaning and up keep would have been a higher rating

It needs to be more clean and they need to remodel it. The room had a humid odor and the pool had a very bad smell. The free breakfast was decent but the food area was small and uncomfortable.

Breakfast was great! Had hot sausage links, waffle machine, toast, juice, ect. The property is listed as non-smoking but the room we received still had a bit of cigarette smoke smell and there were a couple of loose tiles in the bathroom.

Feel this hotel was exactly what we needed on a long drive. It's clean, no frills. It is not a Hilton or anything like that. It's perfect for a family of five with the pull-out couch. It came in clutch for us.
