Algarve Casino Hotel

At first glance the location and the photos of the advertisements of the hotel looks great.

Firstly I do not really know where to begin. 1. We were given our ‘deluxe sea view room’ on the first floor and this was not a ‘delux’ room and the sea view was hindered by brick walls either side of tbh balcony. Plus being above the bar it was noisy and smelt of smoke. 2. I had to report the room was infested with bed bugs. The reception staff just fobbed me off. I even took photos and took an adult bed bug downstairs to the reception to show them. They then told me that bed bugs was a problem in the hotel and was a major problem abroad. I asked to be moved rooms and for us and our clothes to be fumigated but again told not to worry about it as the bed bugs will not be on us or our clothing! We are now back home and taking precautions regarding the bed bugs but we should not be doing this, the hotel should have sorted it. 3. This is not a 5* hotel. It is a 3* at its best! - The showers are over the bath with a hand shower on the wall not fixed. - all the paintwork is flaking. - it is unclean and dated and shabby. 4. The breakfast was awful. The food was never hot, only lukewarm. The choices of the breakfast was minimal too. Plus the coffee was awful to say the Portuguese value and love their coffee, this was not nice coffee. I can go on but still very upset with our experience. This hotel was very expensive to stay in and not worth the money at all. So very disappointed.

Had to ask for milk & limited coffee 'in room' Probaly the worst scrambled 'rubber' eggs ever at breakfast. 15€ for a few nachos 'no cheese ' and a spoonful of guacamole, left us feeling ripped off in bar the first night. Apart from that... wonderful .

Spectacular "resort style" hotel. MASSIVE pool with ample amout of sun loungers and umbrellas for all guests. Spectacular views of the beach below a short amount of steps away. Complimentary breakfast offered a wide selection to choose from! Rooms were a very good size with moderate AC to keep them cool. Great location right on the main strip steps from shops and restaurants. Free parking offered offside but only a 2-3 minute walk away.
