Hilton Cardiff

all round pretty much good but touches missing at this price point

For a 400 pound room at the Hilton i would expect a robe, slippers and bottle opener. Also spare pillows in the cupboard. Flannel would have been good. not so bothered about lack of mini bar but no bottle of water!!! maybe I am a little picky and all else perfectly good. TV reception very patchy but i didn't come to watch TV, (Brazil vs Scotland whilst drifting of to sleep was unwatchable)

Very nice and clean. Room good size. Big bathroom . Staff exceptional, very kind and helpful.

Great location and facilities. Breakfast was decent too but could do with some alternatives to pork sausages and bacon. Staff were very nice and accommodating.

The beds weren’t that comfortable and you could feel the springs. Breakfast could have a bit more variety and they didn’t advertise the fact that you can get omelettes and other bits ordered to the table - we found out at the end of our stay.

The place is tired, lots of general wear and tear. They didnt tell us about the discount on the car park it was 10% off £70! The massage facilities were not bookable through the room charge, and they failed to tel us there was a charge of £5 to use the (tired) pool. The air con was not sufficient.

Cleanliness, room size, all day menu, proximity to town and castle, we’re able to check in a little early due to extreme heat/husband’s health. Staff here were friendly, polite and super helpful; food was excellent and hotel was incredibly clean in all areas. We would return based on these and its location.

I cancelled another hotel on the day of my stay in and paid double the price to stay at the Cardiff Hilton for the sole reason it advertised Air Conditioning in every room, and we are in one of the warmest heatwaves we’ve ever known. However, it became apparent overnight that the air conditioning was not functioning correctly and the room remained wry humid, hot and stuffy all night. There seemed no means by which to adjust the air conditioning and though it was circulating a small amount of air - it wasn’t cold air and wasn’t adequate to keep three adults sharing a room cool. I also found the double bed was a small double compare to the king Size bed we have at home, it felt small and uncomfortable leading to a poor night’s sleep in addition to the faulty Air Con in the extreme heat.
