"Good location but the rest needs improvement"

7.0

The location was amazing next Wailea Shops, and very nice view to the ocean.

The hotel looks and feels very old, needs refurbishment. And on top of all, the cleaning wasn’t good at all (dirty robes, lots of dirt in the bathroom etc…). The housekeeping was very loud on the corridors and banging doors and screaming….

"Great stay"

10.0

We had a great stay overall at the Wailea Beach Resort, and the staff is hands down the best part. Everyone we dealt with was kind, patient, and genuinely helpful. Our first room was well…a choice. It was right off the lobby next to the elevators, which meant we didn’t sleep at all. Think kids screaming, valet carts clanking across tile, elevator dings, and general chaos at all hours. It felt less like a luxury resort and more like trying to nap inside an airport. After two nights of this, we asked to move and the staff was understanding and quickly relocated us to a much quieter room. Major improvement. Fair warning, though, this is not a quiet resort, especially during peak season. There are a lot of kids. There are a lot of doors slamming. Even in the quieter areas, peace and silence are not guaranteed. The overall crowd was pleasant and not your typical trashy cruise ship energy, except when it comes to pool chairs. The towel reserving situation is next level. The resort has a 45 minute policy for unattended towels, but enforcement is hit or miss. Multiple days there were zero chairs available anywhere, yet plenty sat empty for hours with their unworn hats and unread books and uneaten pringles cans. The property does have two beaches, one on each side of the hotel, which is a big win. The reefs were plentiful, although clearly struggling, and we saw tons of sea life snorkeling right off the beach. We watched paddle boarders repeatedly ask where the fish were, which makes sense because from a paddle board you see… water. If your goal is sea life, paddle boarding is not it. The hotel also recommends a kayak trip where they take you out to swim with turtles and fish. Funny enough, we were snorkeling in the exact same spot on our own and saw just as much. If you are a decent swimmer with basic snorkel gear, skip the kayaks and save your money. You will likely see more and spend less. Beach chairs are technically included with the resort amenities fee, but once again, only if you are up at the crack of dawn. People line up early, grab chairs, and then disappear for the day. If you are not an early riser, adjust expectations accordingly or prepare to wage psychological warfare over a chair. The on site restaurants were very good and very expensive, which will surprise absolutely no one. We often walked next door to the Shops at Wailea and used the Island Market, which was convenient, had great options, and did not require taking out a loan for lunch. The rooms themselves were very nice. We had a king bed, a pullout couch for the kids, and a garden view. If you have two bigger kids, the pullout couch is tight and may test family bonds. There is a beachside path that sounds great for running until you realize it is packed with walkers and casual joggers. Serious runners may want to find another route unless zigzagging is part of your training plan. Bottom line, beautiful property, amazing snorkeling, excellent staff, and a lively atmosphere. Expect noise, kids, towel hoarding, and chair drama. Manage expectations, lean into the chaos, and you will probably have a fantastic stay.

"Amazing Resort on the beach"

10.0

On arrival we noticed the property and grounds were spectacular When we got to our room we had an issue We tried to stay where we were and just let them know about the problem but the management was not having that Miriam insisted on moving us to make sure that our trip was wonderful and our memories were perfect and boy did she She put us in a great oceanfront room with a balcony that was just spectacular They do not want anyone leaving that resort without a positive feeling The restaurant was wonderful The food and service were excellent and memorable We were told by Miriam that the place was newly renovated so anyone that was there before should definitely try it again we will definitely go back to the Wailea Beach resort!!!

"Title: A Perfect Anniversary Celebration"

10.0

Wailea Beach Resort exceeded every expectation! From the warm welcome at check-in to the stunning ocean-view room, every detail reflected the true aloha spirit. The thoughtful touches—beautiful room décor, daily chocolates, and exceptional service—made our stay unforgettable. The spa was a highlight: our couples massage set the tone for our anniversary day. Both therapists were incredible—though we requested Lomi Lomi, they intuitively blended multiple techniques for one of the best massages we’ve ever had. The staff radiated warmth and professionalism, and the food was so good we rarely left the property. This resort is the perfect destination for a special occasion or a relaxing escape. We left with cherished memories and can’t wait to return. Five stars all the way!

"Good but not that good…"

4.0

The hotel location is good, the overall environment is also nice. However the experience was not very pleasant due to the smelly room and corridors when checked in. Even unpleasant experience that the room keys were expired on the second day when we were back from day trip. That’s really annoying! But I have to say the view was nearly perfectly.

"Luxury circa 1983"

6.0

I will write the review that I wish I would have read before booking….I think the word luxury is a bit of a reach. Yes, in the 1980’s this place was probably top tier. It’s not just dated but it is oversold- you are fighting for chairs at the pool and beach. At sunrise people start claiming chairs…literally taking shifts to keep them. The beaches are microscopic…. It’s shoulder to shoulder. The pools are the same…. Ridiculously small for the number of rooms. If you are expecting real luxury then go the Four Seasons in Lanai. Maui is dated and only useful for timeshares and insurance conventions. It’s a place where mid level sales guys chat about their sales pipeline their ambition to reach a higher status on different loyalty programs. You want luxury…. Spend the 2k plus a night that gets you real luxury or stop complaining when you are asses to elbows in the pool, the beach, walking the beach path, the restaurant…..
