The front desk staff was amazing!!!! So helpful with a late check in. You can't beat this place !!! Highly recommend!!!! Is I arrived late. The young lady who checked me in, Was so kind. It was late and she made it seem less. The place is super clean.

They were extremely courteous and accommodating

It was horrible. I was assaulted during my stay while trying to sleep at night two different times. I'm pretty sure you don't want to stay there unless you want to be murdered. In fact, skip Kalkaska. My stay was technically at the Grenada tied to the Rodeway Inn, it's all the same staff.

Easy check-in, friendly staff, comfortable bed, and great night sleep.

Property was generally average to below average. The room was much smaller than expected. Very little space around the bed (which was not the most comfortable). My wife said there was some dirt on the floor, but generally clean otherwise. The bathroom was as small as a closet. Difficult to get out of the way of the door to close it. It had practically no space between the toilet and the wall in front. The shower curtain was not long enough to prevent water getting on the floor outside the shower stall. It had no shelves to hold soap or shampoo. I don't know if all the rooms were like this, but if so, I would not recommend this hotel. Staff (especially the young man) was often missing from the front desk with no indication why.

The staff was friendly and the place was very clean. Our was small but we are so busy doing other things we only sleep and shower pretty much. So it was perfect for us!

The hotel itself was fine, I've stayed there a number of times. My problem is with Choice Hotels. I was charged a higher rate at check in than was shown on the reservation e-mail. I planned for the e-mailed amount and held out money for the trip and the hotel. I had to use all the money plus some extra that I held out for the trip, and had to cancel some of my plans due to having to pay more when I checked in. I will hesitate to book with choice again. I don't like to be ripped off.

This place is an unusual place. I think they have year round people live downstairs and hotel on top. The stairs are really steep so be carful. I found old brandy bottle under sink, cracks under door, cracks by lock, dusty vacuum part, dirt in microwave, toilet area needs patch job, and the place is noisy by road. It did smell really clean towels really clean .

Overall, the room was clean and everything was fine. However, the "breakfast" on the news was even better than yesterday was less than adequate, unless you want cereal. They kept running out of things and it was just overall a week breakfast.
