Holiday Inn Express Romulus / Detroit Airport by IHG

First time staying at this IHG property, and booked it because of the excellent location to Detroit Metro. The hotel is easy to find, has ample parking, and a free shuttle to and from Detroit Metro. I forgot to get the employee's name who was working when we had arrived, but she was absolutely wonderful, friendly, and provided excellent customer service. This was on Thursday April 2nd in the evening. As good as the service was, the hotel was loud and dated, especially in the bathroom. Curtains in our room were worn down, and there were noticeable signs of wear and tear. You could hear people running, stomping, and slamming doors, which made for only an OK sleep. Since our flight was so early, we didn't experience breakfast, but there is a large dining area and the food options looked excellent. Check out was simple and we were on our way. Overall, a pleasant stay and great location, but the hotel could definitely use an upgrade.

Location close to DTW airport and free shuttle to the airport. Breakfast started at 5:30 AM which is nice and early.

I had trouble connecting to the wifi on my phone - finally had to connect on my laptop. The desk clerk tried to help me, but she was too busy with guests checking in. They could use another person at the front desk. No water in the room and they were out of water in the area where you could buy drinks, water, and snacks.
