We had to leave to early but the girl on the front desk gave us a to go bag it was good.

One of the reasons that we choose to regularly book st Holiday in zExpress hotels is that we are very seldom disappointed. But we sure as heck were at the Holiday Inn Express Romulus / Detroit Airport by IHG! It was not just a disapointment, it was a resounding disapointment. This place was definitely NOT a typical Holiday Inn Express, rather it appeared like a converted old-style Motel Six. However, Motel Six of old would have been embarrassed by the service delivered by the front desk. The issues started when my wife called the motel seeking the info we needed to take the shuttle from the sirport to the motel. The fellow on the front desk knew nothing about the shuttle service. It took several minutes before someone else came on the line and told my bride what we needed to know. Issues continued when we arrived at the motel. When the room was assigned, we confirmed that the room was a handicapped accessible room but when we arrived at the new room, we found it had a tub, not a walk-in shower. Twenty minutes later, when we entered the new room, we found that the toilet could not be flushed! To his credit, the General Manager of the motel, himself, was able to jerry-rig a fix after another half hour. Unfortunately, that left us with a room without a desk, without a comfortable chair, and without even a reasonable resemblance of a comfortable bed! Guess that is something like zero for six! We had booked to stay there on our return trip. To say the least, we have canceled that stay and are now booked at a competitor. We not only csn not recommend that readers stsy at the Holiday Inn Express Romulus / Detroit Airport by IHG, we must actively suggest that readers do everything possible to avoid this disaster!
