The location was great!

Our rooms air conditioning didn’t work. The maintenance man repaired it by unplugging it (ridiculous). Had to ask for a new room instead of them offering! The elevator was broken so my elderly mom had to walk up three flights of stairs. Was never offered a refund or discount. My mom’s room also smelled musky and the floors were damp! Very disturbing! We also stay here on our way to the beach in South Carolina. Wrote a negative review and asked to be contacted a week ago and no one ever reached out. Will not ever stay here again!

I'm not sure that there's anything unique about the property. There was no curtain in my window and I was on the ground floor and the shade was opaque. At some point during the first night the window shade on its own decided to roll up and it could not be pulled down again. I did all my changing in the bathroom and at night kept all the lights off but when I watch TV people could just look right in the window. I also have lights streaming in my window at all hours of the night and early morning

I did not like that they do not have daily cleaning service and they charge $5 a night for parking. When there is plenty of parking and its in a tucked away location. Seemed excessive especially for the high price for the room

So I’ll admit I caught them on a bad day. A storm had just come through and knocked power out for a lot of people. But when I got to the hotel it smelled musty in the lobby and hallways but the room was clean and good. They also told me that they had been experiencing power issues and someone had gotten stuck on an elevator. Again Not their best day and not their fault probably. They added a 5 dollar parking fee to a property who for the last 20 years or more has never required that. There is no reason for it. The parking lot is clearly for this hotel and serves no other purpose and it’s been the same way for as long as I can remember. So it’s just a cash grab. Didn’t appreciate that. Overall it was fine but smelled funny, staff was okay but not great. Took them about 4 minutes to come to the front desk when I first arrived. The guy who was there was trying but I think it was just him for a decent sized hotel. Probably understaffed and they still want to gouge people for non existent parking fees. The hotel is in the suburbs Nowhere near a city No reason for the parking fee whatsoever. There is nothing else around there. I can understand if you are downtown and want to charge for parking But this is just a cash grab. There aren’t many hotels near it so they know you likely are going to just accept the charge and not up and leave.

Got stuck in elevator on second floor for a few minutes. Upon using the emergency phone in the elevator, doors opened. Door to room (208?) did not open freely. Binding at the top. Had to manually push it closed to latch. Toilet was continually running. Went to front desk to share my concerns and was immediately offered another room. Overall impression is this hotel shows wear & tear. Needs to be freshened up and maintenance items dealt with.
