The Griffin Inn Hotel

Central for what we wanted meeting up with family and friends. Nice pub. Parking available at the back were entrance to rooms is available. Easy access to rooms separate from the public pub side. Serves food during the day until 8pm.

Rooms need updating, headboard was worn and leather flecks falling into the bed. No heating although there was a heater in the wardrobe that was usable. No breakfast available which was a shame. Smell of damp from the shower room.

There was ample parking and excellent facilities for young families, with what looked to be a municipal standard playground in the back. The place was packed with large group reservations, so I think that if we hadn't been booked in to the hotel, the staff would've found it hard to accommodate us. Definitely one to reserve before hand, especially on a Saturday when there's live music!

Our room was right next to/above the bar and the live music, but thankfully we didn't have young children to settle, so our old ears didn't find it too trying. But, if you did have young children or babies, I would check with the staff where your room is located first.

Have stayed here numerous times over the years which says a lot. It is convenient for us visiting family and going to the football and is clean, good value and with friendly staff. It is also dog-,friendly and our past and current Retrievers have been made welcome. There is a bar and restaurant ( but they don't do breakfasts) and there's a nice outdoor area.
