Brookstone Fort Dodge

What can I say about this place???? The staff were accommodating and so friendly to my sister and I. They didn't care that I was up during the overnight shift doing emails. They were the best hands down. Being in fort dodge and hearing it be listed as the 3 in crime rate for Iowa. U wouldn't know it here. I went out at 2 3 4 am to smoke and I felt safer then where I am from. It was a beautiful stay.

Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Pool was closed, so the kids were disappointed. But overall a great hotel.

Front desk staff were excellent!

We have used Brookstone many times since family lives here. Many months ago the pool had no heat & this time it was closed. It smelled like chlorine but had a film on top. People next door partied all night with music & tv on. It siunded like 50 people in that room. When everyone left, The (very loud) tv stayed on. No spoons in the dining room in the morning and no one ever came in to check on food/drinks. Did I mention no soap or shampoo in the room? This is the 2nd time my grandkids have been disappointed by the non existent pool. We are changing hotels as it’s clearly going downhill.

1. The bathroom, in particular, the bathtub, had not been cleaned in a while. There were typical water stains from not being cleaned. There were hairs in the bathtub and on floor. We had booked at least 10 rooms and everyone had same complaint. 2. One of our beds did not have clean sheets, with pubic hair on sheets. 3. One of the other family members said there was mold on the back of the window curtains. 4. One of the other family members was given a room that had not been cleaned. 5. One of the family members (bride and groom) booked the suite room and when some water was spilled on the floor coming into the room it turned dirty, meaning the floor hadn't been mopped in a while. 6. The breakfast was lacking. There was bread for toast and waffle mix, but there was no butter or cream cheese for bagels. Eggs were cold. Coffee ran out. It looked like front desk person was also the kitchen help, so she was probably overwhelmed with so many people, as there was another large party there besides ours.

What a hidden gem of a hotel! The staff were so nice on check-in and make you feel welcome. The hot tub was nice and hot, the room was clean and welcoming and the shower hot with good water pleasure. The bed was comfy, and pillows were a good choice option.
