The Namkhan, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World

The property manager friendliness and professionalism. The Villa had great vibes. The gym. The Pool. The recommendations for dinner in town.

This place offers a very personal touch from the moment you check in. The wonderful manager, Steve, is charming, polite, and extremely helpful. From the welcome onward, you immediately feel well taken care of. The food is excellent and the breakfasts are generous and varied. The cottages are very clean, well equipped, and decorated in a local style that really adds to the atmosphere. There is also an outdoor gym (which is quite rare in Laos) and a swimming pool. Most importantly, it is genuinely quiet here. Many hotels in Laos claim that, but then they turn out to be next to a road or a bridge. Here it really feels peaceful, calm, and homely. Even though the property is about 15 minutes from town, the hotel runs a free tuk-tuk shuttle every two hours. It can be booked through the hotel’s app — just like spa massages or tours. Steve also arranged for us to participate in the traditional alms-giving ceremony in a nearby village, including preparing offerings for the monks.

During our stay there happened to be a large picnic or gathering on the other side of the river with loud music that could be heard near the pool and around some of the cottages. Fortunately, our cottage was farther away. In any case, it’s not something the hotel has any control over.

For the price I fort the food could have been better

Lovely hotel, the staff were excellent and setting superb, a little bit out of town, but to me also good, i had a scooter so that was easy . Also they have regular free bus service.

There is a new riverside Locals daytime and early evening venue / “ camp “for lack of a better description, personally I quite liked it. It looked nice at night lit up, however there is music noise that comes from there which may or may not bother some, wasn’t problem until the Sunday when it was louder and later
