The location was ideal, close to town and venue of event

The room was not clean with wet stains on the carpet, room was very dusty, with poor fitting in general. Also, a noisy generator on all night right outside the room window. The room is priced to match the basic facilities BUT no matter what you pay, basic level of cleanliness expected.

I stayed here for two nights with my sons while visiting family in Retford. We booked the deluxe family room and were really pleased with how spacious it was. The double bed and single pull‑out bed made it ideal for a family, and the room was clean with a lovely bathroom and a great hot power shower. The room had everything we needed and more e.g a mini fridge, hairdryer, full‑length mirror, smart TV, and tea/coffee facilities. The bed was very comfortable. There were a few minor snagging issues, but nothing that affected our stay. The manager was extremely friendly, attentive, and hardworking managing both the hotel and the bar. Nothing was too much trouble, and he even took the time to show us around the old police station cells, which was really interesting. Overall, excellent value for money and a great base for our visit. We’ll definitely stay again on our next trip to Retford.

There was nothing we didn’t like. There were a few minor snagging issues, but as the property is under new management, I’m confident these small things will be sorted over time.
