"Good to be back!"

Revisiting our old favourite haunt after moving away from the area 9 years ago, we were very pleased to see that The Methuen had remained a very pleasant place to stay and dine. We were given a warm welcome on arrival and whilst waiting for our room to be prepared, we ate a delicious lunch in the bar area. Our signature room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated with a beautiful bathroom. Dinner was delicious and served by a charming and attentive young man. A lovely experience all round and we will be sure to return.

Schönes, gemütliches Zimmer. Altes charmantes Haus das sehr sauber, hübsch dekoriert und gut gepflegt ist. Mitten im kleinen Ort Corsham und in der Nähe vieler Ausflugsziele in den Cotswolds. Frühstück und Abendessen waren auch sehr gut.

"Very nice stay with the family."

Great staff - very friendly and helpful. The waitresses on the first two nights dealt with a lot of people on their own and I thought they did it very well.

Just little things - the towel radiator in Room 8 couldn't be switched off and that didn't help the heat situation! The lights on the bathroom mirror also didn't work.

"My friends are fabulous company. The dinner and breakfast were good but only lukewarm"

Room 16 had no wardrobe just 3 hangers on two hooks, only one able to hold a hanger. No dressing table and little storage space for clothes/shoes, tiny bedroom, no bath or conditioner in bathroom. Grossly overpriced and no single occupancy rate.

"Overall a good stay."

A beautiful spot - abd an impressive looking hotel. We had dinner in tge sculkery wiyh friends which could not have been better. The food was amazing and the service superb. Our room - the Snug - adequately described its size ! It was small dark and very hot. No air con. Bed was comfortable and shower was nice although the lack of a bathroom mirror light ( couldnt be fixed quickly) meant getting ready for a wedding -doing make up - etc was very difficult. Not what I would expect for the price of the room. Would not recommend the Snug.
