It means it is very quiet and peaceful. I was travelling alone and did not feel the least bit uncomfortable walking back to the hotel in the evenings by myself.

The pool was a tad small and indoors, so not perfect for laps (probably not the reason you'd come to Hoi An anyway) but certainly large enough for a dip after a ling day out and about in this gorgeous town.
