Akachichi Guesthouse

Being guests of Kenny and Komaki was an incredible experience that we will recommend to everyone. Having an excellent different breakfast every day to eat in their tropical garden and talking amiably about Okinawa and their life was wonderful. Thanks to our dear friends, we will always remember this beautiful trip around Okinawa, a wonderful island.

Kenny and Komaki were wonderful hosts and the breakfast was great. The Guesthouse is close to Cape Maeda and the Blue Cave, both reachable by foot. Relaxing atmosphere, nice room and great restaurants all in all provided a really great stay. I will definitely come here again, if the opportunity presents itself.

First things first: Kenny and Komaki are some of the nicest, kindest hosts I have ever had the pleasure of staying with! They were super welcoming and helpful from the moment we booked and throughout our stay -- which we highly appreciated, given we were not the most prepared of travelers. Secondly, the breakfast was 10/10 delicious, and we looked forward to it every day. The room is cozy and comfortable, with a nice garden to relax in. Location-wise, we were very close (walking distance!) to beaches and snorkeling hotspots like Cape Maeda!

Nothing! But I would recommend travelers to consult a map of Okinawa before booking, as it is a big island with somewhat inaccessible public transportation option. Getting to and from locations without a car can be challenging.

I liked the cute and comfortable interior from the entrance, the cleanliness of the bathroom and bed was very good, and especially the water pressure of the shower was strong, so I was very satisfied. Lastly, the Okinawa home-style breakfast service was so good at this price point. It is such a satisfactory accommodation that I don't want to recommend it to anyone else (in case it will be difficult to make a reservation)

Kenny and Komaki are great hosts. They already helped us before arriving on how to reach their place and supported us continuously when having questions or asking for recommendations. The breakfast was exceptional and the best we had on our trip. They both put so much effort which made our experience wonderful. Thank you very much again!

This was our favourite part of the whole trip! Our brief stay at Akachichi Guesthouse was truly special. Kenny and Komaki made us feel so welcome. The attention to detail was evident in the beautiful design of the room, the lovingly tended garden, the delicious breakfast… And such a fantastic location! Close to the most gorgeous beaches and the spectacular coastline. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

A small guesthouse with a homey vibe and a lot of love for details. Every morning we got a great breakfast set served on the terrace in a beautiful green garden. The room was quiet, clean, spacious with 2 beds, a small table, 2 comfy chairs and a hanger for clothes. They offer daily roomservice. Kenny and Komaki are very friendly and helpful hosts and gave us great recommendations. It is located near cape maeda. There is a brilliant plant-based restaurant in 3 min walking distance, an Italian place and another café. In about 7min walking distance is the cape for snorkeling or diving and 4 small beautiful beaches.

We spent 5 days at the Akachichi Guesthouse. The guesthouse is located about 50 minutes by car from Naha airport in a northerly direction. The location is excellent and offers plenty of relaxation and nature. There are several beaches, restaurants and other activities nearby. Kenny and Komaki are two wonderful hosts who also give you good tips along the way and are always ready to help. The breakfast is world class and made from local ingredients. We recommend a rental car to explore the island. The rooms are large, comfortable and modest by Japanese standards. That's how it should be! Nothing is missing in this accommodation. We really enjoyed our stay and wish Kenny and his family all the best for the future!

The Apartment is so gorgeous. Spacious and with a beautiful garden. It was very clean and had insect netting everywhere which was really helpful, so that we could leave the windows open all day and all night long. The fan seemed to be just a little detail but was our most important thing in the apartment that guaranteed us a great sleep. Also the beds were comfortable and the pillows great. A second bedside table could've been useful actually. We loved the breakfast which changed every morning. Lovely components we really enjoyed, with eggs from their own farm. Also we got a cute breakfast to go bag when we left. It was really quiet and you can reach the beach by a short walk. The hosts were attentive and cared a lot, thank you so much for everything! I highly recommend this accommodation. Parking is available right in front of the house. Body wash, shampoo and conditioner were provided. Also! Which is an amazing plus: There is a great vegan restaurant 3 min walk from the apartment called Gajimaru, open from 11am-11pm. Make sure not to miss it.

Kenny and Komaki were the most wonderful and welcoming hosts. They helped us so much with everything and wanted to make sure that the stay was pleasant in all respects e.g. helping with dinner reservations and day activities. The room and the location was beautiful, especially the beaches around. The stay with Kenny and Komaki was one of the highlights of our stay in Okinawa.
