Deewanji Ni Haveli

The haveli has been beautifully restored and our room was light and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the place is very clean. The staff and manager were very friendly, courteous and helpful and the breakfast was good.

There are only a few things that might be addressed: The shower was in a terrible state; black mould everywhere and the taps were loose and water squirted out of the shower hose rather than coming out of the shower head. The drains were very smelly and water in the sink drained only slowly. Secondly, and this is just a minor issue: It would be nice (and fair) to inform guests that water and tea, which are being offered, are not complimentary. We were charged for both, which is fine, just let your guests know in advance. It’s a little noisy at night/early morning (traffic as well as noise from the houses opposite).

Maison historique dans un "Pol", très bien restaurée et bien entretenue, avec de nombreuses boiseries, bien représentative des maisons historiques de la ville. 3 chambres, dont une très spacieuse (Suite Heritage), située à l'arrière du bâtiment, donc très calme. Impression de séjourner dans une maison particulière. Personnel chaleureux et efficace. Bon petit déjeuner avec des produits frais. Excellent rapport qualité-prix. Idéalement placée dans la vielle ville, que l'on peut découvrir ensuite à pieds. Pour les plus longues distances, les ruelles du centre étant étroites, privilégier les Tuk-Tuks aux voitures. Le plus simple est de marcher quelques centaines de mètres jusqu'aux rues principales plus adaptées à la circulation pour prendre un Tuk-Tuk ou un taxi (Uber est opérationnel). Ne pas hésiter à frapper à la porte d'entrée pour qu'une personne vienne vous ouvrir (la sonnette était fatiguée lors de mon séjour).

L'escalier de l'entrée de la maison est un peu raide, avec un perron étroit et haut de 2 mètres, sans rembarde de protection. Les chambres sont à l'étage, donc il y a des escaliers à monter, ce qui rend l'accès de l'hôtel difficile pour les personnes à mobilité réduite.

AVOID Not much, hard to find, location so noisy and extremely unfriendly.

Fire extinguishers were all out of date. My travelling companion is a UK fire officer. We were put in a room on the top floor of the building with no means of escape without a working fire extinguishers. When we checked them, they were all out of date. We left after one night and were made to pay for the four nights. This property needs to be checked by the authorities.

It's very clean and well maintained. Specious and comfortable room. It has charm of old times. Location is convenient even though it's in the old city. Simple & delicious breakfast.

There is no sign board outside so difficult to locate the property. The guy at the reception is polite but not enthusiastic so the first impression is not good upon arrival.

Le prix de la chambre est sur-évalué , par rapport au confort et à l'accueil.

The staff were very kind and friendly. This is a unique heritage stay which has been beautifully restored. Best suited for couples/ solo travellers.

The location is in a narrow and extremely busy street. If travelling with small babies/ children, keep in mind that you'll have to walk 5-10 minutes in a very crowded street to reach the hotel. Cabs wont be coming in.

Was difficult to get to in taxi - roads are blocked with parked motorcycles after 10am.
