Peregrinos Hostel Cartagena de Indias

Location!

This hostel has a lot of potential. It is located in an excellent neighborhood near the historic center and with easy access to Cartagena neighborhoods. The employees are attentive and diligent in any situation. Unfortunately, this hostel is not consistent in terms of what is offered and what I paid on hotels.com and what I received. I paid for a room with TV and the room did not have a television. They offer breakfast included and the employee told me that they have not given it for months. The "pool" is extremely small and is decorative. I think only two people can stay there. We never use it.We stayed in two different rooms and the air conditioning in both made a noise after 3 hours of being on. Lastly, the rooms are extremely small if you and your group of people are over 5'10 (180cm) and travel with medium-sized suitcases you will feel super uncomfortable in the rooms.

Air condition worked well. Quiet environment. Room was tidy.

Kitchen equipment was poor and partly dirty. Room was smaller than the announced 20 m2. Matrace was too hard.

Location was great near a store, close to Getsemaní. Nice to have a kitchen to cook breakfast and store food in refrigerator. Dipping pool was nice after exploring hot days.

There is a bar next to the property that thumps music all night long. Internet was spotty.

Beautiful property! Great staff. Love the security, pool, and kitchen. Beds are comfy and AC is really good. Awesome location!

I think this place is great. It is about a ten minute walk to the clock tower, main strip. Its is also a 5-6 minute walk to a pharmacy which is great if you forgot something. there are coffee and pastry shop around the corner. This hostel was clean , the breakfast was simple but tasty. The only bad note I will say the beds were extremely hard, not very comfortable but I was so tired from so much walking I feel asleep right away.

Breakfast was great - typical and simple for Colombian Hotels of this size and price, fresh fruit, eggs, toast , juice freshly prepared. The Cook and the Clerk were so sweet and friendly and made me feel very welcome and had good advice about exploring Cartagena. The room was a perfect cozy size and they had lockers if you wanted extra security for yo your bags. True to it's name there was a family of Peregrine Falcons that lived at the hotel - they perched on the top of the building when I came back one day. Very Cool. The area is perfect if you want to explore the old city and Getsemani but wan't quiet at night. You don't need a car but if you have one you can park on the street securely and for free.

The Pool was just a tiny square of water - so don't plan on swimming here
